“Just a short walk to Pompeii excavation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

The hotel is just 5 minuits walk from the Pompeii excavation - and also from the train station to Neapel. You can visit Neapel from here too. A friendly hotel, not very new, but maintaned. The swimming pool is excellent after a long walk between the ruins or turning back from Neapel. Kitchen is reliable. Hospitality is excellent.

Room Tip: From rooms on the north side on the top floors you have a nice look on the Vesuvio

“My Home Away From Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011 via mobile

This exquisite family owned hotel is for me like going to visit family in Italy... The proprietors live right there at the hotel and welcome their guests with open arms. Hospitality is #1 here. The atmosphere is one of pure joy. The pool is amazing, and it is great to share this refreshing amenity with the hotel owner's adorable grandchildren. Each year they are one year older and over a five-year period of having the privilege of working with the archaeological group who books the hotel for their time working in the ancient city I have watched them, one my one as they grow into polite, charming, talented little individuals. The cuisine is exceptionally excellent and the atmosphere of dining outdoors on the curved balcony that encompasses the shape of the pool in aesthetic perfection is an experience to behold. The accommodations are clean and have a very nice European simplicity to them which I happen to like. The staff have been there for many years and go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy and comfortable and if you need anything at all they are right there to help. This family I feel as though they are an extended family and my fondness for them is immeasurable. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else while in Pompei and each time I must leave this beautiful place to return home I count the months and days until my next visit. Where else can you feel more welcome than The Villa dei Misteri... Nowhere. This is my home away from home.

We stayed here for one night so we could get an early start at Pompeii. We were made very welcome, the rooms were clean and well-equipped and it was very good value for money. It was also located nice and close to one of the main entrances to Pompeii ruins and near the railway station. There is an outdoor pool, but naturally only in use in the summer.

“The best hotel in the region”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

I recommend this as first choice to anyone who is sightseeing in the region of Bay of Naples. It's location, is adjacent to the entrance to Pompeii, to the Circumsuviana Train Station (local rrain), and buses to Mt. Vesuvius, so location is ideal. Quiet on a very pretty road. Best of all, It has a beautiful refreshing pool, for cooling off after hot days sightseeing--the only pool in the area. Pompeii, Oplontis, Herculaneum, Boscoreale, are all quick trips on the local train, must sees. You need to spend more than one day at Pompeii alone. After a few days and you can cover them all. Naples is 20-30mins away. Better to stay here than Naples -- you have easy commute to the city sites, but have the pool and well priced rooms instead of busy noisy hot urban hotel. You take can day trips to Sorrento, with boat rides, and day trips to Capri, there are great day hikes, or move on to a stays on in those resorts. The hotel is extremely clean, the rooms good sized and the staff is helpful gracious . Ask for room with balcony. This is ideal hotel for the price in the area. We had a wonderful time -- (ask ahead for referral cab transportation from Naples airport)
