I stayed at the hotel Piazza Bellini in January 2012. I've made many trips to Naples and this is by far the best choice I've made in a hotel -- the location is absolutely perfect, close to all the sites and on a charming street. And the hotel is a stylish, modern recreation of a historic palace. They've made wonderful use of original elements of the architecture but the whole thing is super-contemporary. My room was two levels with the most amazingly high ceiling and a view onto the courtyard and fountain and also the lovely garden of the palazzo behind.
The staff was super friendly and was very helpful in printing out some pages for me that I sent them by email.
I can't recommend it more highly, though it might not be the best place for people who are elderly. I was there at a conference and some of the retired professors who had come to speak seemed a bit uncomfortable there, probably because they were used to really traditional hotels and didn't want to deal with the staircase in their two-level rooms.
