“not bad but there are some buts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2010

Hello. I visited Naples in February. Altough the B&B seems nice at the beginning it was very cold inside with some strange humid air, air condition did not work there, After one night we caught a cold unfortunately. The room was very dark. The place is situated nearby the main train station in Naples, but you must go through a very dark street to get there, for two girls it was a little bit scary. I`ve been to some other B&B in italy and unfortunately must say this one was not the best. I would recomend it to those who have low budget and are willing to stay there only night.

“Total disaster- I cannot recommend this place under any circumstances”

Dear All,
I booked this via the internet as it looked fine from the photos, the location was handy to the main train station BUT the photos flatter to deceive. Neither room I was shown looked remotely like the photos and as for the location.......!!! This is not a location I would recommend to anyone. The photos must have been 'edited'.!! The street and those around it are not for tourists, repeat NOT FOR TOURISTS.
The place itself is awful and the Via Torino is in a very unsalubrious locality. I have travelled extensively all over tthe world over many years and could not recommend this place at all to anyone other than my worst enemy.
I was travelling with my 10 year old daughter. Luckily a Neapolitan friend rescued us and we settled in the Mercure a couple of miles away, more expensive but infinitely better.

“Nothing like advertised - so awful we didn't stay!”

We arrived at this hotel after a long drive from Rome to Naples. We were disappointed with Naples anyway on arrival because there isn't much to do at the city,it was very littered, scruffy looking and unsafe.

We arrived at the hotel and went inside to see what it was like before deciding if we should stay in Naples or go to another city along the Italian Riviera. Firstly, this is not actually a hotel but an aparmtent with block with other residential apartments in it. Obviously the owner has decided to rent out the bedrooms in his apartment and call it a B&B so already it was deceiving and nt what it was supposed to be.

We went inside to find no lift and a sign saying it was on ther first floor. We went up to the first floor and knocked on the door with the sign for the hotel on and a man greeted us and said to follow him to our room.

We then walked up TWELVE FLIGHTS of stairs to the sixth - and top - floor. Believe me when we got to the top my husband and I could barely breathe and our calves felt sore and achy! We followed the man into another apartment where, once in the hall inside, he got a key from a drawer and opened a bedroom door to reveal a dark, old fashioned, dirty looking room. My husband and I did not even bother going inside the room - just tod the man we wanted to cancel and left.

He kept trying to make us stay the whole way down the stairs again - saying he could offer us another room and why didn't we like it. We told him it was not a proper hotel it was apartments which was deceving. The room looked very old fashioned, dirty and the sheets on the bed were fraying and it smelt musty. It did not look like the rooms in the pictures on the internet WHATSOEVER- in fact I would not be surprised if it turned out they had simple cut those photos from a magazine it was so different!

Also, our legs were feeling like jelly from the walk up to the top floor. We are not unfit but the amount of stairs to climb with no lift was ridiculous. Had we decided to stay we would not have been able to get our suitcases up and down them without help from someone else and even once we were there going out of the hotel and coming back would have been very hard faced with all them steps every time we wanted to leave.

We got in our car and drove to Sorrento, a beautiful town on the coast about a mile south of Naples. It was pretty, picturesque, clean, had plenty to do and lots of beach for relaxing.

I would recommend anybody thinking of going to Naples to skip there as it is not a nice city and this hotel is certainly not a nice hotel!
