We were there in January 2011...sorry for the delay but my friend that I traveled with has since passed away, so it has been busy. We were lost driving in Naples, the Carmenere (sp?)helped us and directed us to Millennium Hotel. They held the restaurant open for us and the wonderful, beautiful, young woman at the front desk gave us directions the next day and made certain we had coffee and a snack. I may be spelling her name incorrectly (Venecia).but she is an angel. The two helpful young men from the military were also absolutely wonderful and really went out of the way, Roberto, calling his friend who directed us to the hotel and made reservations for us. I read the reviews before staying here. Work had made the reservations and I was quite nervous. I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel clean and the staff very kind and accomodating. Although it's not the fanciest hotel, it is much better than the reviews suggest. It is a typical Italian hotel in a less than desirable neighborhood (by the Naples airport), but the hotel staff do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The neighborhoods around the Naples Airport aren't the best in town so security was a concern, but this hotel is very professionally run and caters to U.S. Navy personnel and contractors, since it is also walking distance to the Navy headquarters located next to the airport. I felt very safe there and the included breakfast in the morning was very satisfying with good variety and great service.
Venturing out at night you can run into a few shady characters, so I don't recommend walking about alone, but in a group, we felt safe.
I had to laugh at the free safe deposit box in the room - it was just sitting on a shelf without being bolted down, so someone could walk off with it, but I guess it keeps honest people honest, or at least the ones that don't have blowtorches!

Wish we had not given proximity to airport prority. As in the wee hours of the morning time taken to thairoort would have been only 10 minutes more from the city. This is the worst hotel i have eve stayed in. Dingy , narrow corridors to the rooms on the ground floor. The rooms smelled and sheet didnot appear fresh.The resturant staff spoke some english and the food had no ariety and was awful. we had eaten such wonderful Italian food of that area in the week that we had been there that the last meal was such a let down.we were discouraged from going into town to eat by being told taxis were difficult to get at that hour.
The only saving grace was that we got our wakeup call on time and the taxi to take us to the airport. A sad end to our wonderful holiday
