“San Giorgio Hotel”

At first glance you would think that the hotel was located in a bad part of town, but everything in that part of town looks run-down. The hotel looks like it had a renovation a few years ago, but apparently the pipes and "guts" of the inner workings of building were not changed. ie. the water smelled horrible, and not fit for brushing your teeth. When I first entered the room the bleach smell almost overpowered me. I had to keep the window open almost the entire time to the enjoyment of the neighbors blaring away with music, and crating a ruckus half the night. The bathroom looked as though it was not fully cleaned each night because there was mold in spots that are very visible and easy to clean. The beds were very hard, and the sheets had an odor about them. The breakfast had few choices, and very small even by Italian standards.
I would have to say that this hotel is in a key location near the bus and train stations, but in a city of that size there are many more spots to stay. It is in my opinion it i just a small step up from a hostel.

Room Tip: Keep looking around the Naples area. The metro train system is useful and with a little travel you...

“Very close to the central station”

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel.
+: very close to the central station and circumvesuviana station. Easy access to trams for the city centre and harbour.
-: the first night we were moved to another hotel because of a power blackout; cleaning staff did not lock the room door after cleaning the room; dirty toilet and shower cabin which was also very small; poor and bad breakfast; friendly staff but some italian knowledge can really help you here; the area itself is close to means of transport, but it did not seem safe even if nothing happened to us. To be sure, we used taxi to reach the hotel after dark.

“Good place to overnight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

Location is perfect only if you're planning to travel a lot around Napoli - It's next to the main train station (and buses). So u can easily get to Pompei, Sorrento, Amalfi coast and major Italian cities (e.g. Rome). There's a supermarket nearby, some "no brand" shops & a couple of cafes (including the oldest pizzeria of the city). But the area itself is not really perfect - dirty & noisy. If u wanna see the real beauty of the city (& to travel to the islands) it's better to choose the hotel closer to the sea & castels.
In the room there're all the amenities, air cond., TV, everyday cleaning. It was kind of noisy but still OK for overnight. Breakfast was poor. Staff was VERY-VERY nice & helpful!

“Good for location and for its price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

We stayed in this hotel on the last week of April. We were pleased with hotel's location - near Piazza Garibaldi (and Stazione Garibaldi where we could take a train to Pompei) and one of the main shopping streets - Corso Umberto. "Near" - i mean within several minutes of walking on foot. Then the guys on the reception were nice and always ready to help. Our room was cleaned everyday. The view from the window leaves much to be desired - it's just a yard with houses of locals - but as soon as the hotel isn't close to the traffic ways, it was quit during the nights we spent there. Be aware that the walls of the rooms are very thin: so late in the evening we heard our neighbour's sweet snore and in return he knocked on the wall when we made the TV a little bit louder))
Breakfast is not worth talking about, - for me it was rather poor, i even can list eveything: ham, cheese, milk, flakes, jam, white bread (you can make toasts there), butter and machines with drinks, one of which was broken. So you'll not stay hungry, but you'll not be pleased very much i think. Where you'll pleased for sure - it's in Trattoria da Giovanni! It's situated not so far from the hotel - Via Cesare Carmigliano (don't be afraid of that street where guys from Egypt et c. sell their goods, locals sell fresh seafood). So if you're brave enough, you'll find this hidden gem with all types of pasta and dishes with seafood! And low prices will astonish you!!!
By the way in the hotel you can use free internet and hotel's umbrella)) Why not coming? :)

“Good option for a budget holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

If your stay in hotel is just for those hours when one needs 8 hours of sleep then this is the best bargain in Naples. The hotel is at 10 minutes walking distance from the main train station. Even the bus-stop is very close to the hotel.

The breakfast in the hotel was decent. Dinning area was clean. Hotel has paid internet service [wi-fi and even a standby-pc]. The rooms were decent.

For what we paid, the service offered was reasonable.
