At first glance you would think that the hotel was located in a bad part of town, but everything in that part of town looks run-down. The hotel looks like it had a renovation a few years ago, but apparently the pipes and "guts" of the inner workings of building were not changed. ie. the water smelled horrible, and not fit for brushing your teeth. When I first entered the room the bleach smell almost overpowered me. I had to keep the window open almost the entire time to the enjoyment of the neighbors blaring away with music, and crating a ruckus half the night. The bathroom looked as though it was not fully cleaned each night because there was mold in spots that are very visible and easy to clean. The beds were very hard, and the sheets had an odor about them. The breakfast had few choices, and very small even by Italian standards.
I would have to say that this hotel is in a key location near the bus and train stations, but in a city of that size there are many more spots to stay. It is in my opinion it i just a small step up from a hostel.
