“Worst ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

We found this hotell and thought it looked ok. rooms here alright seamed clean. We thought that 60Euro was abit much but accepted it becouse we needed a place to sleep. The staff didnt speak any english but we didnt see that as a big problem at first. When we went to bed and wanted to turn on the aircondition we couldnt get it to work so we went out and asked. It tourns out that the ac isnt included in the room and they wanted 5E for that. At around 12 at night they turned on a washingmashine in the room next to us. It made a terribla noise and made it impossible to sleep. At around one we went up and asked the staff what it was, tried to explain that we wherent able to sleep, asked to be moved to another room, or for them to turn the washingmashin of. The only answer we got was "no compendo" and he then left to go wach the tv. We had to put toiletpaper in our ears and pillows over our heads to get a few hours sleep. Next morning we where hoping that perhaps the new staff would speak some english so that we could tell them that we didnt want to pay full price when we wherent able to sleep. But all we got was "no english no comprendo" so in order to get our passports back we had to pay full price for the room and move on.

“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

We stayed here for 6 nights. The hotel was rather easy to find and didn't have any dubious surroundings.
The room was large enough for 3 persons and the bathroom was average. It wasn't as small as others complained. We even had a hairdryer!(since this seems to be a very big concern for everyone) We had hot water all the time, but the shower cabin wasn't very big. (so, if you're extremely fat you'd better not go to this hotel :D)
The only thing I can complain about was the air conditionning. We had to pay an extra 5 euros/night for it, even though it didn't say so on this website. However, it was probably not the hotel's fault, but the site's.
The breakfast was excellent. You have to climb two flights of stairs to get there - it's on the roof - but it's actually a nice place. A bit hot, mind you, during the summer, and I reckon freezing in winter because I didn't see any heaters up there. The food was great. You could have however much you wanted, and we usually had a bit of everything. Cereals, milk, toast, butter, jam, croissants, fruit juice, coffee, tea, cheese, salami and cake.
Overall, our stay there was great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my friends, or to stay there again.

One more thing - the elevator. It was very small, but very cute. I don't know why, but I liked it. And it was working too! Most of the time, anyway.

“Beware of reservation policies”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2009

We made reservations to stay here through Venere.com, but owing to unforseen events we had to change our plans. We missed the cancellation date by one day in Venere.com, whose policy clearly states that in such a circumstance it is up to the hotel to waive the fee. We contacted Nettuno immediately, they responded two days later first saying that if we hadn't made the reservation with Venere they would have waived the fee. We told them we were made aware of the hotel only through Venere and that their cancellation policy defers to them. Then they said the would not make an exception. It is clear that there is a confusion in the reservation policies, which not surprisingly does not benefit the customer.

“Great value, location and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2009

This is a very good hotel for the price. A less than inspiring entrance (buzz at the outside gate, go up some stairs to the lift and take the lift to the top, then buzz again). However, once in, the staff are friendly and efficient, the room basic but clean and with the normal essentials. Considering its central location, it is quiet (apparently unusual for Naples!) and nice to get back to after a day out. Breakfast is simple continental, but fresh and plentiful (cereals, juices, toast, cakes, cold meat, cheese, etc).

I travelled at Easter and the evening of Easter Sunday virtually everything was closed. The man at reception made calls, looked on the internet for any way to get food and was generally very helpful. I did eventually eat at a nearby Chinese restaurant. Even the bars were shut.

Do not expect a five star luxury hotel. However, if you want a good, simple hotel as a base in central Naples, look no further. It helps if you have some basic Italian - this really gets smiles from the staff. The location is great, a short walk from the harbour.

Naples itself is a busy city with chaotic traffic. However, look beyond these facts and you will find warm, friendly people and a great atmosphere. And the coffee and food is terrific. Recommended to anyone who can see below the surface of the bustle.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2008

Hotel is a good deal.
We paid 55euros for a double room with bath and breakfast.
Room had a small window but was cleaned.
Towels were changed every day.
Breakfast room is located on the roof of the hotel with a terrasse which was nice. Breakfast is ok (continental only)

Hotel is not located in the historical center but is closed to it (5-10 minutes walking). In the area, we found several restaurants. Shopping street Toledo is located just 5 minutes from hotel.
