We travelled to Naples and booked this hotel in advance after reading all the nice reviews that were describing the clean rooms with African-style furniture. Upon arrival, we were happy with what looked like clean but basic amenities. Our joy only lasted until the next morning, when we discovered that our sheets were full of bed bugs and tiny blood stains. We called the reception person immediately, a guy named Bruno, who was unimpressed with the situation and only offered to change our sheets. We told him we were not staying there for a second night, but he was not very willing to help since we had already paid for 4 nights in advance. Finally after showing him the bed bugs that kept crawling on the sheets, he agreed to change our room.
We then left for the day on a trip to Pompeii, and when we returned we were indeed given another room. This time, a different reception guy explained that the insects were living in the old furniture and it was the first time this happened. Because we had already paid 180 Euros for the four nights, we decided to give the new room a try and closely inspected the sheets before attempting to sleep. We had no problems in this room, but during that day itchy bite marks appeared on our skin and we had to take allergy medication. It took us a great effort for this appalling incident not to ruin what was otherwise an amazing holiday, but had we known of the slightest possibility of being bitten by bed bugs, we would have avoided this place at all costs.
