“Greatly Located Budget Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We got the bus from the airport to Garibaldi Sq and walked the 5 mins to the hotel finding it set slightly off the main street. We were greatted warmly and processed efficiently. Our room was compact but adequate, with as good a view as you could expect in the centre of the comercial throng outside. The decour was nice though a bit fraid in the ensuite (could do with an update). The room was slightly noisey at night and early morning though we both managed to sllep through it. Breakfast was simple continental cereal, meat & cheese, croisant and yogurt. Overall good value for money no frills stay.

“Good hotel, excellent location for those without transport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

Nothing for people who stay in luxury hotels, however excellent for the medium budget traveller who wants to experience a more local feeling. Rooms bigger than in comparable hotels in London. Staff very friendly and helpful. Area good, at the moment the Piazza Garibaldi in front of the Central train station is not very welcoming due to works. But absolutely fine to walk along the edges (coming out of the station cross to the left, walk to Corso Umberto I at the far left corner, follow for ca 10 mins and the hotel is tucked in behind a little green wooden stall on your left). I was there for 5 nights, 4 out of five were absolutely silent (apart from street life).

“BED BUGS!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

My husband and I stayed at this hotel recently. We arrived from Florence in the early afternoon and headed straight to the hotel. It was quite close to Napoli Centrale, only taking about 10 minutes by foot.

We arrived and were greeted warmly. We dropped off our bags and headed out to sightsee. We returned late in the evening. We did some planning for the next day then got into bed and did some reading. As I was turning off the light, I sat up and noticed a fairly sizable bug on my pillow. When my husband killed it, it left a bloodstain in the napkin, alerting us to it potentially being a bed bug. When we pulled back the sheets we identified at least 10 other bugs that were large enough to see. We were obviously disgusted and distraught. We had our clothes bags on the bed earlier in the evening and we were concerned that the bugs had gotten into our luggage.

We went downstairs, but we were met with disbelief. When we showed the attendant the bugs in our room, he claimed that they must have crawled in from outside. We tried to explain the nature of bed bugs and the seriousness of the issue, but had difficulty due to the language barrier.

We wanted to leave the hotel. We decided to pack our things and head down to the front desk to arrange for alternative accommodations. It took us quite a while to pack, as we shook out each piece of clothing as a first effort at ridding ourselves of the bugs. When we got downstairs, it was 12:30am. We were told that other hotels had been contacted but they did not have any vacancies. When we announced that we would just go out and find a new hotel, we were discouraged by the attendant due to the high crime rate on the major street in front of the hotel. After 20 minutes of arguing back and forth, we eventually settled on staying in a new room. We checked it thoroughly and it appeared to be free of bugs. By the time we turned out the lights, it was past 2am. We had difficulty sleeping, as we felt that bugs were still crawling on us.

In the morning, we asked to speak to the manager. When we spoke to him, he was unwilling to provide any refund or reimbursement. When we explained the lack of sleep and the need to launder all of our clothing to eradicate any potential bugs, he was still uninterested in helping us.

Needless to say, we would not recommend staying at this hotel. It left a very bad taste in our mouths. Save yourself the time and trouble.

“Tiny hotel tucked away in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

This hotel is set back from a main street in Naples that leads to the Napoli train station and is about 1km away. We wanted to stay somewhere central but not too close to the train station as that area tends to be a little seedy. We were happy with our choice at the cost of a mere 69euro a night for a double room. The room was small but well decorated and very clean with a lovely mural of a seaside scene painted above the beds. Our room was equipped with a tv, desk and chair and wardrobe with hangers. The bathroom was small but very clean and
I had the best shower I have ever had in Italy with great water pressure. The air conditioning also worked well and was a necessity following the heatwave we experienced in Italy this September.

Everything about the hotel is on the small side with the front reception desk being tiny and only
just enough room in the entrance to get inside. The dining area where breakfast is available
( which is included in the price) is also small but comfortable and tastefully decorated.

Breakfast included a warm cornetto served to your table by the waitress who also took your coffee order. Also on offer were two types of cereal, ham, cheese, bread rolls, fruit, yoghurt cake and mini sfogliatelle (a traditional neopolitan pastry which is delicious!) . Believe me, you
can't stop at one!

An Area for improvement is the attitude of front reception staff who I felt could be a little more helpful.

“Good hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

The hotel is 15 minutes away from Central station of Naples. However the area is safe, I didn't feel unsafe at all during my stay. I've been there with my boyfriend for 2 nights. The room was really small, but clean. The same was the bathroom (en suite). The breakfast was average. Typica italian, I'd say.
The stuff was friendly and helpful. Generally, it was a good hotel in a good location at a reasonable price.
