“Better than it sounds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

Don’t believe all you read about this hotel. Its three minutes walk from where the bus from the airport stops and five minutes walk from the station with easy transport to all the major attractions in and outside the city. In fact, most of the city sights are in easy walking distance, including the port. Perhaps the decor looks a bit tired and the hot water supply can be a little dodgy on the 5th floor when large school parties are staying but all this is compensated by the central location, friendly staff, substantial breakfast and double glazing that keeps all the city noise out. The area around the station is cosmopolitan, noisy and vibrant, but that's part of the charm of Naples. On the opposite side of the square there are also several good and reasonably priced restaurants.

“Hotel Cavour Is Perfecto!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2010

I was traveling with a group of 21 students and parents. We had two nights in Naples. Hotel Cavour is very convenient to the Metro and to some of the wonderful shops and sites. Only a few blocks from the Mediterranean; and along the way some wonderful boutiques and "mom and pop" stores. It was a great location. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful to our group. They made our stay fun!
One of the students celebrated his 18th birthday while in Naples and the staff at the hotel made it one he will always remember. We had a great dinner in the hotel (it's the best food around if you ask our group! and at the greatest price) and they made us a tiramisu (oh my GOD it was fabulous) for his birthday cake. We sang in English, then the staff all sang in Italian. They didn't charge us a penny extra for the tiramisu and were so accommodating to our group that we were sad to say goodbye.
Upon our return, we will make Hotel Cavour one of our stops! Thanks to all who were so very helpful!

“Absolutely Mental City Great Hotel!!!”

We booked this hotel for £20 each B and B, they hotel is very pretty and the staff extremely helpful and courteous.

One evening we had the hotels set menu which was absolutely delicious and worth every penny (around 10 euros each).

It is centrally located next to the train station and bus terminus, we got the circumvesuviana and explored pompeii and sorrento, we walked to the docks and got the ferry to Ischia fantastic centrally located.

The room was basic but clean and extremely large, with the exception of the tiny bathroom but we coped.

There is a couple of restaurants opposite the hotel, one is just downa side road on the left and the other is the isis their food is delicious and really cheap you will get the best pizza ever in both of these.

WARNING.....traffic lights forget them, people ride their mopeds on the pavement and Naples stinks of Urine and has loads of tramps/beggars but it is full of life and we absolutely loved the city.

“there has to be better than this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2009

Piazza Garibaldi is not a nice area and we didnt think much of the hotel either. Old and tired, noisy and reception staff off-hand. Breakfast was nothing special. Parking an additional cost. e were glad we only stayed one night and we were glad to leave the hotel and the Piazza area.

“A dump in a dump !!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2009

Hotel Cavour hasn't seen a vacumn or a lick of paint for years. It's musty, dirty and reflects all the charm of the Piazza Garibaldi in which it resides!! If you have to stay in Naples stay by the Harbour, it's cleaner as are the hotels. Thankfully we only had to stay one night in this place although I still feel slightly stained despite the several showers taken since I've left. Didn't risk the shower or the breakfast at the hotel as the shower was as dirty and decrepit as the stair carpet and I didn't have great confidence in the state of the kitchen. Don't go.
