Pleasant hotel but does not warrant a four star rating.

This hotel is situated in the Vomero district of Naples and there are great views from here. Although served by buses and the nearby funicular, there are few restaurants very close to the hotel. This is a disadvantage if you've been out all day and don't want to travel too far again for an evening meal.
The hotel rooms are reasonably comfortable but rather basic and certainly not four star! The continental breakfast was the most basic I have had in many years, and again does not justify four stars. The fruit salad had always run out by 8.30am leaving little more than juice, bread rolls, and coffee (or tea).
The staff and hotel reception were polite and helpful at all times.
Its a good location if you don't mind schlapping a bit, and in view of what I paid represents good value for money, despite these criticisms.

We liked to hotel so much; old fashioned house, antique furnitures and a breathtaking panorama from the room.
At the front desk were very helpful to solve all our little problems and very warm people.
We reccomend this hotel and will return at Britannique for next visit to Naples.

I have been to many hotels with impressive service at a reasonable price. But the quality of this hotel proved to be the cheapest in Naples. The rooms were okay, though the shower was shaky and the breakfast was plain. The main problem was the staff's attitude at a front desk. I booked for three nights, and the manager told me it's not possible in a very rude way. He declared that I would lose my money for a night. He even murmured a swear word such as "oh, my god!" to his guest. The other staff were as cold as their manager. Next time, I would pay $20-30 more for a night not to spoil the mood of my travel.

Just spent a weekend here and found the hotel location to be brilliant. It was just far enough from the centre to feel comfortable walking round at night and close enough to walk there during the day. Don’t think the hotel provide double beds as we were promised one but this never materialised. Nevertheless the twin beds were clean and soooo comfortable after walking round all day. Breakfast was a good continental. Requested a room with a balcony but got a room at the back of the hotel and was glad of it – it was the quietest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Agree with a couple of other posts about it not coming up to 4 star standard but then, if you shop around, the prices are not 4 star either. The hotel staff were 4 star though. Every recommendation and suggestion they gave us was excellent. Would recommend this for an excellent base to explore Naples from (dog poo, jaywalking and all!).

The Hotel Britannique is a gentile, old-fashioned hotel in an attractive part of Naples. I would not describe it as elegant. We stayed there in January when there were relatively few guests, which may partially account for the high quality of service and the spacious feeling about the hotel. Our room was tastefully appointed and there was a garage for the car. The restaurant food was excellent. The only real problem is the challenge of getting there by car. There is no easy way. Get a good map in advance and look for the occasional hotel sign on the roads. The hotel could do a better job of providing directions. We certainly would stay there again.
