The hotel is what to be expected, a 5 star with a view breathtaking and service, espacially if yoou speak French is extraordinary. Some reviews is surely from Americans that are used to a NO SURPRISE and very common hotel. George's restaurant on the roof offers a cuisine that appeals to experienced palates. A great Chef that is recognised by his own piers to be the best in Naples. Enjoyed the gourmet dinner and is comparable to other 5 star restaurant in large European cities such as the Toque d'Argent. Well worth the expense.

I am not sure why I thought Naples was flat, but it turns out there are hills. The Grand Hotel Parker's sits on one of these hills and from rooms on the "sea view" side of the building there is a fantastic view of the city and the bay. The room and bathroom were large and airy. The decor led me to feel as though I was in a Merchant Ivory film - this is a good thing, believe me. Loved being able to throw open the doors as see the view (though if you are not cityfolk the sound of traffic may be a bit troublesome). Things are a bit worn around the edges in the bathrooms, but hey marble looks better the older it gets.

Breakfast is served on the terrace which once again has a breathtaking view. The selection of items (breads, pastries, eggs, cheeses, meats, etc.) is plentiful and the quality good.

I was most impressed with the level of care and concern shown by the staff. I found everyone to be friendly, helpful, and generous with their time. When I suffered a bit of a mishap (thief on a Vespa grabbed my purse on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele and dragged me along for the ride), medical attention was given, the authorities called, internet access granted and a great deal of sympathy poured out. The front desk clerk (forgive me, in shock I forgot his name) was incredibly helpful and it made up (almost) for my loss.

I stayed two nights in the hotel. I had a room to the back of the hotel. View to a wall. The shower was quite terrible. Should be renewed or totally cleaned. Not worth the price, one star standard. Service at the reception at check-out terrible.
Otherwise nice location. Nice view from the terrass. Breakfast for Italy very good.

Stayed overnight Oct 6, 2011.The room decor was outdated and had walls that had plaster missing. The shower stall was filthy and full of mold and rust. Toilet was completely rusted. I could not get any cell service or wi fi connection when I called front desk to see why I was told it was because I had an inside room. When I told them I was very disappointed in the room they made no effort to remedy the situation. This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in on our trip.This hotel needs a major renovation and better customer service.
