Wow - after the 15 minute walk carrying our bags we walked into the lobby and we were a bit surprised. It looked a little rundown in there but we had hope! When we got to our room we were shocked at how different the room was from what is advertised in their website. It was rundown and just kind of nasty. The bathroom had mold behind the door and the shower took a lot of effort. The good thing it that the room was mostly clean. We drank a lot of lemoncello which made the room seem much better! We checked out after one day even though we were supposed to stay for two and they didn't seem too surprised.
I think you can get a better deal elsewhere if you look a bit more. Also - don't go to Capri in August unless you like to be crushed up against a lot of sweaty people. Head to Ravello!!!!!

We booked a room and received confirmation from the hotel for a two night stay in late may. It was a very hot afternoon and we hauled our luggage up the fifteen minute it takes to reach the hotel from the square. Upon arriving, however, the hotel had no record of our reservation which we had made months ago. We showed them the print off of the confirmation, yet they claimed they never received our response. Their suggestion, "you can find another hotel if you'd like" Gee thanks... we we're going to sleep on the street. After speaking to the manager she claimed they had had this problem in the past. Based on the lobby, the place was not nearly as nice as we had thought. All turned out for the best though because we ended up staying somewhere much nicer for the same price. (which was remarkably suggested by the manager after we repeatedly told her we had a reservation) After stayin in Capri I've realized there are MUCH nicer and more customer friendly places to stay for similiar prices. If you are staying here... I would HIGHLY recommend triple checking your confirmation with the hotel before you get there so you don't have any surprises.

The hotel Belsito is only a 2*, and is on a really expensive island so maybe we should not expect too much for 110 Euro.
Start on the positives: Our room had an incredible view and was a good size (but some rooms did not face the sea). The hotel is in a quiet position, around a 10 minute (uphill) walk from Capri centre.

But: The bathroom tiling would not be out of place in Pompeii - there were so many broken tiles. The bedroom furniture looked hand made in around 1950, it's most recent update being a coat of pink paint in about 1970. The room was generally clean, but hardly spotless.

Overall impression was of a hotel that provided the owners with a flow of income as it stands, so why bother ?

This place is a dive. Nasty rooms (bugs), uncaring management, and peculiar policies.

We were the only guests at the hotel and late in the evening the owner woke us with a knock on the door and asked our name. When we told him, he asked if it was 'Hernandez', (which it isn't.)

When we reminded him what it was, he said we had a phone call (we didn't).

Upon checkout, we were asked how much we agreed to pay per room. On the desk was a note from Hernandez which stated, "We waited for 1/2 hour for someone to come to the front desk. When no one came, we went to look for another hotel."
