“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2010

We stayed at RG for a week and would do so again in an instant. The staff was wonderful. They were helpful, spoke English, and very personable. The hotel was located a little out of town, but they had a shuttle that took us into Sorrento and were good about adjusting their times a little. There was also a bus stop rather close. Our room was spacious and clean. The restaurant was nothing great but breakfast was very good.

“AN OASIS OF QUIETNESS NEXT TO BUSY SORRENTO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

We spent 6 nights in this fabulous resort. First of all, it is a heaven of peace and quietness, yet close to busy Sorrento and if you do not have a car, a shuttle van will take you to town at scheduled times. The rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished and even if not all of them have a sea panorama, you will have an enchanting view on the olive- and lemon-tree fields like we did. High ceilings and large windows make the rooms airy and bright.
In less than a 10-minute walk, you will reach a little private pebble bay for a safe swim. And so we did !
At his point, I have to point out the friendliness of the entire staff with a special praise to Rosa, the (very pretty) Receptionist, looking after every detail for you and very helpful for any query you might have. The owner himself was also a great help in trying to trace for us an urgent envelope which was express-mailed to us from Switzerland but apparently got caught up somewhere in Sorrento. We eventually got it, just in time, also thanks to his efficient efforts.
Breakfast, and this will be highly appreciated by all late sleepers, is served until late morning and offers a wide range of tasty genuine products. We also had dinner there one evening. Although the menu choice is not wide, we had an excellent 3-course meal.
We mostly used this resort as a base for our daily excursions but I would not mind spending more time relaxing and lingering on-site for our next visit ! Therefore, a well-earned BRAVISSIMO for this beautiful spot where we shall go back !

“ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

I found this quaint hotel on trip advisor, and I am SO glad we found it. This hotel is like an oasis. Placed among Olive and Lemon Groves, and overlooking the ocean, it was the most peaceful beautiful place I've seen. Our room was HUGE, and overlooked the ocean. The staff is incredible. And the Breakfast....Oh...THE Breakfast. Really, I am craving some of the amazing stuff they served at breakfast. While the hotel is a bit out of sorrento (plan to get back to the hotel via bus or an expensive taxi), it was totally worth it. I'd love to come back and bring my parents next time. The only down side was the private beach still is in stages of upgrades. That is the final piece that will make the price of this hotel go up steeply. So book now. :) The only thing that would make this place even better would be a pool! :)

“Gorgeous hotel but difficult to get to!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

Hotel staff were very helpful even before arrival by arranging a car to pick us up(for a good price) as our flight was arriving at night. Our room was lovely, very clean and spacious with a view of the lemon trees in the garden. The hotel has a private beach about ten minutes walk from the back of the hotel, a pebble beach with sun loungers provided set in a beautiful cove. However as we didn't hire a car it was difficult to get into Sorrento, the hotel provides a shuttle bus but it only makes 4 journeys from 9am-3pm. Not helpful if you want to have dinner in Sorrento, your options are walk up the steep hill to the main road and along it ( very narrow and dangerous) for five minutes to get to the local bus, which comes every 20-30 minutes or get a taxi which costs at least 25 euro. On the night we ate in the restaurant in the hotel, we found it expensive, with a limited menu and the food was not as good as elsewhere. Great stay but they need to improve their shuttle bus service.

“Serenity , Beautiful and quiet location and wonderfully attentive service made this one of our best stays ever.”

Relais Regina Giovanna is set in citrus and olive groves about 3km from Sorrento. The hotel is a converted farmhouse with an amazing olive press in the restaurant. We had a huge peaceful room ( actually a sitting room and bedroom) on the top floor and our son had a gigantic room on the same floor. There was no lift.

The staff were wonderful , offering quiet, efficient unobtrusive service of the best sort. All were excellent but one would like to especially single out Rosa at Reception and Monica serving in the Restaurant and Bar.

Breakfast offered an excellent selection and the hotel coped extremely well with a special dietary requirement . There was a small choice of evening meals available ( usually 3 for each course) ; the cooking was excellent and reasonably priced.

There was a lovely roof terrace, perfect for watching the sunset over the Bay of Naples.

There was a private (rocky) beach with sun beds and towels available. There is a half-finished building just back from the beach apparently awaiting final planning permission before it can be completed but I believe there are plans for this to house a bar, loos , showers etc.

The location might be a problem for some as taxis in Sorrento are really expensive but the hotel offers a shuttle into and out of Sorrento at 9.00, 11.00 , 13.00 and 15.00 , local buses run past at the top of the drive and some restaurants will provide transport if you ar e having a meal with them. For us, swapping the hustle and bustle of Sorrento
for the wonderful serenity of the hotel grounds more than made up for any transport difficulties. There is parking in any event if one hires a car.

All in all , we had an excellent holiday thanks to all at Regina Giovanna
