We stayed here at the end of 2011-beginning of 2012 for five nights. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. The view over the bay is stunning and the wall-high windows are the best perk of the hotel, by far. To add to this, the rooms and common areas are very chic, tastefully decorated and certainly not a typical re-hash of standard hotel decor.
The breakfasts were excellent - do not miss on the fact that you can have a warm breakfast - eggs, pancakes etc. Also, we had a wide selection of fruits and pastries and teas.
The hotel is located about 15-20 minutes walk from the main street in Sorrento (Corso). We liked this very much, as it is a very pleasant walk and a good way to build up a bit of an appetite. The walk is uphill, but my wife was six months pregnant at the time and did not find it difficult.
The hotel staff was very nice and quite helpful although you may have to actively ask for help rather than have them volunteer it very much. We found their recommendations to be generally very good.
Besides being beautiful, the rooms were very, very comfortable with nice beds. excellent toiletries, interesting books and free (slowish) wi-fi. Slight inconvenience: the huge windows lead to fast heat loss (we were there in a cold period) and the air-conditioning (which is the only way to heat up the rooms) was quite noisy in our room.
Lat thing - they have free parking, which was great since we were driving a rental and used Minervetta as a base for exploring the Amalfi Coast and other areas.
We would (and will) very warmly recommend this hotel to others.
