I stayed here on a school trip last month. There were two other schools besides our own staying there, and no other guests. The rooms were very nicely furnished, and we had a big balcony, but a bunk bed had been put in, and this made the room quite cramped. The walls were also really thin, and we could hear the other room's conversations through them.. The hotel is in a very central location, close to the shopping areas of Sorrento.
The management of the hotel were a bit like Fawlty Towers, and this really showed at meal times. The meals were very simple, a bit like school food, but the waiters didn't speak English, and so trying to get the right meal was difficult. The hotel wasn't used to providing vegetarian food, so mostly the vegetarian dishes were just vegetables.
Staying here was definitely not bad, and the hotel staff were quite amusing. However, if I wasn't on a school trip, I wouldn't stay here.

We were based in Sorrento to see the classical sites. This hotel is conveniently near the train station making travelling easy. It is an easy stroll to the centre of the old town - we ate in town, not in the hotel. Travelling in summer with a young family, we really wanted a hotel with a pool for us all to cool down in after a hot day at the sites. This hotel was simple, but clean. It is very much a family run hotel. Our room did not have a balcony, next time I would request one. The pool area was delightful. In an evening we sat outside in the garden over a drink or two. For us it was a simple hotel, with a great location and the great bonus of having a pool. If we go back to Sorrento we'll certainly return to this hotel. Good value for money.

We had a spacious room in back of builiding so it was quiet (front rooms will overlook busy road).
- Hotel Tourist was great location, 5 min walk from train station and 7 min to Piazzo Tasso, the main square with all restaurants and shops.
-Breakfast - okay - basic - cereal, fruit, bread, eggs/sausage, cakes/pastries
- Nice pool - good for relaxing in the afternoon but it closes at 6pm and you have to pay to rent the towels

Worth staying at as a good base location

I stayed here on a four night school trip i have never been in such a poor hotel. my first impression was good, a pasta dish was served as a starter and was very tasty. Then we had our main course risotto and absolutely vile no favour whatsoever i tried to eat some to not hurt the chefs feeling. but after saying no the to the offer of more risotto i had spooned onto my plate despite my refusal. the rooms where very poor old rugs used as bedding and the bunk beds falling apart. the cleaning was standard very far from a five star resort. would not recommend
