We had an excellent time at this hotel, from the minute we arrived. Front desk staff greeted us by name on arrival, had valet parking ready for us, and since it was dinner time, gave a great recommendation for a restaurant. The restaurant was not walking distance so they sent a car for free.

Our room, a junior suite, was very comfortable, very clean, with tile floors, a beautiful balcony view of the deep ravine next to which the hotel was built. The room had plenty of closet and dresser space for our stuff, the tv selection was broad with channels in multiple languages. The only quirk about our room was an odd bathtub/shower set up, but we got used to it. Wi-fi service was reliable.

The breakfast service was excellent, with a combination of hot and cold options, local fresh fruit, and great table service. Although the food spread was the same very day, there was enough variety that during our stay that it never really got too old.

The grounds were very atttractive - the gardens surrounding the pool area were very well maintained with an amazing variety of mature, fruiting citrus trees. Someone else in a different review complained that a nearby apartment building has a view of the pool area, but really, that is beyond the control of the hotel and that didn't bother us.

The hotel was in a great location right off of the main piazza (Tasso), within walking distance of everything in central Sorrento, including the train station that took us to Pompeii.

I had a great trip to Sorrento, Italy with friends. We stayed at the Antiche Mura Hotel. They have a beautiful pool in the middle of a lemon grove with excellent pool side service. While we were there we went on several tours through "Balla In Style" tours. Nello was our tour guide. He spoke great English and had the best sense of humor! With Nello we went on tours to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii, and Positano. Not only did we go on tours but through "Balla In Style" we booked a reservation to spend a day on a boat in Naples Bay as well as a cooking class in Sorrento. I strongly recommend "Balla In Style" and the Antiche Mura Hotel for a great vacation!

My husband and I traveled from Atlanta to Rome and Sorrento the second week of November 2011. In Sorrento we had searched reviews on line for hotels and decided on the Antiche Mura. It was a five star hotel. Franco the owner has a magnificant hotel and his staff is like family. They take care of the guests as though that guest was the only one there. Very personable! they arrange drivers for you if you prefer instead of taking buses. This was the best choice we have made. Francesco was our driver who gave us a personal tour in a new Mercedes van to Pasatano, Amalfi coast, Rovello and also guided us to the Emerald Grotto boat tour. We had lunch in a fantastic quaint restaurant in the center of Rovella. The breakfast buffet that is included in your room price is as they said, it's oppulent. We have never had so much food! We highly recommend this hotel. Marco and Lauren at the front desk were just wonderful and really helped us connect with what we wanted to do while in Italy. Hats off to Franco! Great hotel!!! Thanks for making our Italy vacation the best trip ever!

Loved the location of Antiche Mura. A very short walk to Piazza Tasso. Great restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was nice although not much variation from day to day. The outside patio area near the pool was gorgeous. Highly recommend this hotel. Sorrento is a great place to say to visit Capri, Amalfi, Pompeii, etc. and you can't beat the Antiche Mura.

Picked this hotel for our holiday in Italy after reading all the glowing reports on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed, its every bit as good as everyone said. Superb location close to the centre of Sorrento and just a couple of minutes walk to the train station. The staff coundn't have been more helpful and the breakfasts were scrummy.

Would love to go back to Sorrento, a weeks not nearly enough to do everything. Will definately choose the Antiche Mura again.
