My now husband and I stayed at the Capodimonte for a week along with my parents as during our stay we were getting married at Villa Fondi in Piano di Sorrento.
The hotel was lovely, we had a paid extra to have a partial sea view (no sea views available when we booked) and the room was amazing along with the little terrace overlooking the pools. We had some fresh fruit and Proseco left in the room to celebrate our marriage (although this was there when we arrived!)
The food was really nice, especially the omlettes at breakfast! The only thing that let the hotel down was the staff, the restaurant staff in the evenings were very slow and it could take 2-3 hours just to have your evening meal, so often too late to be walking down into the town to enjoy some of the nightlife and also the staff in general although helpful were very aloof and not very friendly.
Because we booked a wedding package we were supposed to recieve a free Lobster dinner for 2 but neither of us like Lobster and I'm not that keen on fish in general and when we asked if it would possible to exchange it for an alternative like a steak they refused! :-(
On the day that we got married we were eating our evening meal out in town with our friends who weren't stopping at the capodimonte so we asked if we could swap our evening meal for lunch and they refused but this time they at least offered us a packed lunch which we picked up at breakfast.
For amazing views and comfortable surroundings I would recommend the capodimonte, but I would say just book bed and breakfast and enjoy some of the delightful restaurants Sorrento has to offer! ;-)
