We originally booked for 3 nights, but ended up staying nearly a week...not just because Sorrento is so gorgeous, but because we really enjoyed our stay at Oriana! We just fell in love with Villa Oriana and how we were welcomed by the family, how clean and airy and fresh the rooms were, the spectacular view of the bay, and I can't even begin to describe the home made breakfast without my mouth watering! In fact, after traveling for 1 month, we never had better breakfast. Woke up in the AM with the scent of baked cakes!
We also had internet in our room, which was a huge plus. Many hotels claim they have internet, and it's either in the lobby or some hotspot scheme that doesn't work and logs out every 5 minutes making it especially useless for my iPad. The villa has a drive way lined with lemon trees and blooming flowers, and because the area it's gated, we felt extra safe with our car parked there at night without even remembering to lock it.
As far as location goes, we had a car. We first looked at other hotels more in the center of Sorrento, but parking (as well as internet fees) was outrageous, and after spending an evening in Sorrento we realized how obnoxiously loud it is on the streets next to the hotels. So glad we didn't book in the center of Sorrento, and chose Villa Oriana in a peaceful secluded and dreamy area (must credit my boyfriend because he chose it!) I can safely say that no trip to Sorrento would be without another stay at Villa Oriana. Highly, highly recommend it!
