“Central location for old town & beach, close to' Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciencies'”
The Hotel is very clean and nicely decorated, the reception staff seemed very friendly although we didnt really have any dealings with them only to book in/out! There is plenty of info about the city in the foyer. The only negative was the pillows, which were rubbish, you only get 1, sausage shape thing, which was really uncomfortable, I should have really asked for another, but typical english, not one to complain! The breakfast is very good, plenty to chose from, typical assortment including full english, usual price expected for an hotel breakfast but convient. We didnt use the hotel restaurant as to be honest it was always empty (not a good sign in my opinion) There are plenty of popular restaurants nearby although we didnt visit any but only down to didnt have time & too many others in old town & beach area to chose from! The location was very convient for us has we wanted to visit both the old town & beach, it is in the middle & just over the road from the' Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciencies'. It is a lovely walk along the old river bed to the old town, about 20-30 mins, although we only did this once as it was too much for our 8 year old daughter ( it was extremly hot on our visit). We ended up buying a bus pass for 8 euro's which was well worth the money( 1.30 euros per journey normally) & the bus service is excellent. The bus stop is just outside the hotel, a number 19 goes both to the old town & in the other direction the beach. Valencia is lovely, well worth a visit & I would stay at this Hotel again. (maybe next time take my own pillow!) One word also on arrival, do not under-estimate the size of valencia, it is huge!!! we made the mistake of thinking the metro stop was just around the corner ( it looked so on the map) it was indeed a 20 so minute, complicated walk ( we gave up after a bit & jumped in a taxi). A taxi from the airport is said to be about 40 euro's. If you want to use public transport your best getting on the metro to' xtavia', lines 3 or 5, this brings you out at the Nord train station, walk straight up the road on the left, to the plaza Ajuntenment, outside the town hall the last stop here you can catch the no 19 bus. when you come to the roundabout where you can see the 'Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciencies' the bus will turn onto the av de Francia, about half way down on your left you will see the hotel, the bus stop is just a little past. Wish we had known this before our visit! Overall there is lots to do & see in Valencia & we enjoyed our visit very much!
