I stayed three nights in a Junior Suite on a short trip to Valencia. The property is stylish, generally well presented and what you'd expect from a boutique hotel. The service was good and the facilities as you might expect. The property feels slightly tired, as if it were last improved five+ years ago.
What was really obvious was a lack of care in the housekeeping. I had a used floor towel in my room on arrival. The bathroom was not very clean with splatter marks on the wooden floor around the washbasin and worse on the marble tiled floor around the toilet area. There was dust and someone else's hair on the marble surface below the washbasin. The grout was discoloured and the shower head very basic given the level of the property. Of the two bathrobes, one was in acceptable condition but the other was old and obviously needed binning.
During the stay, very obviously used glassware in the room was not changed which is very basic and simply should not happen. In the hotel spa, a dead cockroach at the side of the jacuzzi pool was there two days running further demonstrating a lack of care. That it was a similar colour to the floor is hardly an excuse.
The hotel was not particularly expensive by international standards but is quite expensive compared to other hotels in Valencia. I'm sorry to say that it's probably not worth the premium unless they get the basics right. You don't want to wonder what you're standing on in the bathroom of any hotel, let alone a high end one.
