“Lovely hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed at the Tryp Oceanic for a three night break in February and it more than met our expectations. The room (we upgraded for the grand total of 3Euros per night!) was large and comfortable with the most ginormous bed we had ever slept in. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We took a taxi from the airport (about 20Euros) but took the metro back when we went home as it was only a 10 minute walk. The city centre is a short metro ride from the hotel and the City of Arts and Sciences is just across the road. We also went to a football match whilst we were there and made it from our seat in the stadium back to the hotel room in 20 minutes. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again. When we left we were invited to sign up to the Sol Melia Mas rewards scheme, which would have given us half price breakfast and a free upgrade so if you have booked a room here it may be worth signing up before you go.

“Overpriced in tradefair period, otherwise OK.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

If considering to stay at this place, have a look at the tradefair calendar first. As this is one of recommended places by Feria Valencia (despite being awfully far from the fair itself), the prices tend to soar if a tradefair is on. Location is perfect for those seeking proximity of the Oceanografic, Science Museum and Music Palace, plus there is a major shopping center right across the street; other places of interest require a bus ride, as metro is also not in the vicinity. As for the hotel itself, it is a solid 4* place with all the amenities one would expect, the only minus being no wifi in the rooms (cable only). And the cables provided by the reception are very short, forcing you to sit unconfortably at the desk should your ntb have a LAN port on the opposite side from the outlet.

Room Tip: There is no major thoroughfare in the vicinity, so all the rooms are reasonably quiet.

“Great stay in Valencia and in the TRYP”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

stayed here sept 2010 with my father. He brought me along when he was there on business and must say I had a ball. The hotel is situated in the city of art and sciences, where there are a number of museums and and aquarium. There is also a number of cafés and a shopping centre right next to the hotel which was great for me :-) The hotel itself is lovely, it strikes me as a business hotel which was fine. The pool is small yet nice, and I had it to myself almost everyday. The room we were in was small but perfect with a nice tv and a good sized bathroom. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of variety. We had lunch on the last day and it was not great- very salty and almost inedible but overall a great hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel is a good ten mins from the city centre by taxi.

“good location, shame about the pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 4 nights in September 2011. We stayed in a premium room, which was nice (great bathroom) although the view was of the apartment block across the street. Hotel was quiet, although the a/c unit made noise intermittently.

We chose not to eat in the hotel, although there are some good little cafés round the corner, and the city centre is only a 10 minute taxi ride. It is very convenient for El Corte Inglés, and the Science Park is just round the corner. Metro station is about a 20minute walk, however, and not something I'd be inclined to do after dark.

We chose this hotel as it was one of the few with its own pool, however this was shaded from 10am onwards the time we were there so we didn't end up using it in the end. The small gym is handy, and the sauna was great. The rooftop terrace was great for watching the sun set over the science park, although a few more sunbeds would be preferable. The staff were (mostly) friendly and helpful.

I have no complaints about the hotel, and at the price, was good value for money.

Room Tip: Premium rooms were comfortable.

“Nice and comfortable place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

Tryp Oceanic Hotel is a nice and comfortable place, especially being situated just in front of the famous City of Arts and Science. The rooms are very clean, silent and comfortable though a little bit lacking space. Anyway, it's a good value for money and the hotel's position is perfect to visit one of the greatest attractions of the city and not very far from the beach where to eat out in one of a handful lovely restaurants. The old city as well as the seaside is easily reached by bus or taxi.
