“Overpriced, uncomfortable, dodgy facilities - avoid!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2009

We slept on stones for 10 nights - there is no nice, soft ground on which to pitch your tent. The shop opens whenever they feel like it, and the bar closes very early for Spain (11.30pm, in August, peak season). Hot showers are available for the lucky one or two who manage to struggle into the bathroom early - the rest of us put up with cold showers (not so bad on a hot day though). Toilets and showers are cleaned regularly, but the area for washing dishes is dirty and not fit for purpose.

The pool looks nice but I wouldn't know how nice it is, since campers have to PAY to use it, 3€ a day. The 'zoo' is appalling - don't visit it if you have any beliefs whatsoever in the rights of animals to the minimum of comfort if they are to be kept in captivity. Caged pigeons and a big lizard that to me appeared distressed. I was upset by the whole experience.

Apart from the bar staff who are perfectly friendly, it was clear to me that so long as the Euros are coming in, the experience of the campers is of little interest to the staff.

The saving grace is the beach - a bit of a trek through forest and sand-dunes - but isolated, peaceful, clean and beautiful. However, the walk is completely unsuitable for young children, older people and anyone with any mobility problem.

Be prepared to pay over the odds. Or stay somewhere else!

  • Liked — The beach and the bar staff.
  • Disliked — There are loads of additional charges to use so-so facilities.

“dont even bother”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2005

This place was definitely creepy and a huge disappointment, all the facilities were closed and we were still charged high season price, we tried to complain but they just wouldn’t listen. To get food to cook we had to go to the not so nearby village, relying on the local bus, not very reliable when it takes half a day just to get over-priced pasta! The trek to the beach wasn’t quite ‘just across the road’, more like through the forest, over the hills, past the sand dunes, dodge the naked men and there ya go.
All in all the staff were rude, the facilities were closed in September and its very very far away from anything if you don’t have a car. Don’t go there if you want to have fun.

“Large with many facilities”

This campsite is a large one. It has so many facilities I won't even bother listing them, but to say that they even have their own zoo and bullring!

However most of these facilities weren't open in late August. The supermarket kept funny times also and wasn't very well stocked. The swimming pool is in a leisure complex that you have to pay extra for (2.5 euros per day) bit cheaky that.

However a good place to stay if you're attending the La Tomatina festial in Buñol 30K inland.

“creepy”

This campsite is very strange, it has a supermarket that only opens on saturday and sunday mornings, the sign says its open every day, morning and night, lies, it charges 2euros fifty for its swimming pool, which is all fenced away, the ground is stony where you pitch your tent, the tennis is ten euros, the staff are a bit rude, and its miles away from anywhere . but the showers are very good, and a nude beach is accross the road
