“Excellent choice.”

Nice clean room, altough not very large, well-equiped, excellent wi-fi signal. We were on the last floor to the inside of the block. Nights were very quiet. There is a bar and a restaurant on the first floor. They have breakfast in the morning, very basic but a good start. The personal is rather friendly. Most speak a little english. A few words of spanish also help.

The hotel is located in an area called Benimamet, on la calle Cullera. This neighbourhood is at the edge of Valencia, so much so that it didn't show on the map we had bought in Barcelona. But, a street of the same name did exist in another part of town. Guess what? We spent a few hours looking. Using all our spanish language skills, we stopped at a shopping center where a security guard and customers did help us to get on the way. Muchas gracias. I strongly suggest use of a GPS to drive in Spain, I know I will do so from now on. Fortunately, there is a subway station about 500 meters from the hotel. The area seems safe and is well-lit at night. It takes about 25 minutes to get down to the center of the city, estacion Colon. That is the place you want to see, We tought the restaurants in Valencia were not as clean and the food not as good as in Barcelona. But we were maybe unlucky and Barcelona is so nice! Anyway, if you go to Valencia, don't forget to go to the oceanographico (the aquarium) and the park nearby.

We had reserved 2 nights and we spent one more. I recommend strongly the hotel. It has been quiet and comfortable. Just remember that it is not in a touristic area and it is a little away from the center.

“Excellent out of town hotel”

Just stayed in the Hotel Vora Fira for three nights with 54 other people, mostly pensioners. This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel but it has been refurbished since our first stay and I have to say they have made an excellent job of it. The food was excellent, the cleanliness of the rooms excellent and the attention from the staff excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. It took our bus about 30 minutes to get into the city but a taxi did the journey in 15 minutes. The 'out of town hotel' was chosen because of price and the value was, as ever, excellent. I was in charge of the finance for the group and we were given a safe free of charge so that I could just take what I needed, when it was needed. If and when we decide to visit to visit Valencia again we will undoubtedly use the hotel. There are very many other places to visit in Spain so it may be a year or two but I am sure we will get the same treatment as this visit.

Room Tip: The corner rooms I think are larger than some of the others. The rooms on tthe upper floors don'...

“Nice hotel in the middle of nowhere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2009

Our stay in Valencia was part of a trip that also included stays in Madrid and Barcelona. Vora Fira hotel was the best hotel in this trip, in terms of conditions. Unfortunately, I’ve picked it with a wrong representation of its location. It is in a suburb of Valencia, far from everything, but close to a big conference centre. That means that if there are no events at the centre even transportation by subway is tricky. We took a bus from the train station and nobody seemed to know where is the best stop for the hotel. We ended up wondering around streets with the luggage, as we were following signs for the parking of the hotel, not the hotel entrance. You are completely depended on public transportation to get there form any interesting place in Valencia, and that is over by 10.30 pm, so you either go to bed early or take a cab. There is also a night bus we used one evening, but it was quite an adventure to find it and then it took ages to get to the hotel as it makes a lot of detours (and the stop for the hotel is the very last one!). Don’t even think of walking, you’d have to cross a highway, a dark uninhabited area and so on. The hotel makes up in price and conditions, but only for those travelling by car.
