This hotel is located about half way between the old town of Valencia and the Port area and is also very close to the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. There's a bus stop directly across the road from the hotel, and metro stop about a 10 minute walk away.
This is where the good points end. The night we arrived, we were greeted by an unfriendly guy at the reception desk. When we saw that we were being given a room with 2 single beds pushed together and not the double room we had booked, he refused to change our room and said there was no availablility in the hotel.
The room itself looked like it could do with a good renovation. Bathroom tiles were cracked, the furniture looked cheap and was scraped and slightly battered looking, paint was peeling from the walls, the tv reception was hopeless, the remote control didn't work etc. However, the beds were relatively comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower despite what some other reviews said.
Breakfast was nothing special. Some cereals, cakes, bread (which always seemed to be gone no matter how early we got up for breakfast). The fruit salad was tinned fruit in syrup, and there was never any hot water for tea.
Half way through our stay, the infamous smell of sewage that I just read about on other reviews appeared. It was absolutely disgusting. When we complained to reception, they simply gave us a bottle of air freshener! After a few hours, we couldn't take it any more and insisted that they move us. Despite initally telling us that the hotel was full, we were eventually moved to a proper double room with a balcony on the second floor.
The hotel does have a nice sitting room area with a tv, and a computer with constant broadband access which was a plus point.
Overall, this hotel is ok if you want a cheap weekend and aren't too fussy about the standard of your accommodation. But if it's a romantic break you're after, forget it!
