Overall my weekend stay in Valencia was quite pleasant.
I chose this hotel for its central location facing Palau de la Musica - it is a 15-minute walk to the nearest Metro stations "Alameda" and "Aragon". Booked my room on SH Hoteles own website - booking process short and easy and I found a last-minute offer ("oferta ultimo minuto") at 121 EUR for a Premium room.
Considering that I was travelling off-season, price is a bit expensive by Spanish standards but included a hearty breakfast.
Check-in was quick and I felt welcome - a special thanks to the reception employee (Francesco) who was very friendly and helpful. The Premium room was spacious and functional with a nice front view over the Turia Gardens. Amenities included coffee-making facilities, individual air-conditioning, large desk with a chair, safebox. Very comfortable Queen-sized bed with firm mattress and fluffy pillows. All equipment were working properly.
Bathroom is quite large, bath and separate WC spotlessly clean.
On the downside my room was actually a connecting room - at times it was a bit too noisy from the other room.
Breakfast buffet is opulent, well-presented and tasty. Large offering of cold cuts, smoked cod, various cheese, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries. Warm food included bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. I really appreciated having regional Spanish products such as Iberian ham or the delicious cold drink "horxata".
On the downside the breakfast room is located underground, so that there is no natural daylight.
I ordered room service for dinner - reasonable waiting time of 25 minutes, very friendly waiter. The grilled bacalao and the apple pie tasted quite good.
The business corner on the ground floor has a lot of computers (4 or 5, I guess). However internet price is outrageously expensive: 9 EUR for one hour! I would expect a five-star hotel to offer Internet use free of charge.
All in all I can warmly recommend this hotel for its great staff and breakfast buffet. However room price is not inexpensive - it is worth keeping an eye for promotional offers.
