The SH Ingles is a great medium size hotel in the centre of Valencia - I didn't realise quite how central it was until we walked round the corner and into the main Plaza de la Reina ! The balance of value for money, friendlyness, comfort, location, cleanlyness and breakfast cannot be beaten. I would recommend it to anyone. Most rooms face either the Ceramics museum or a peasant street - only a few are on a less atractive alley. Use the train from the airport to Colon Station. All the airport trains go there so you can't go wrong. As you exit the station you will see Court Engles on your right. Walk down the pedestrain street Jaun de Austria until you come to the main junction. Then walk between the BBV? bank and the Toutist Office on Poeta Querol for about 3-4 mins and you will see the hotel on your left. Incidentlany the Tourist office is really helpful for info and maps- they let us know about fireworks and a parade that were on during our visit - just great :-)

This hotel has a great location. A lot of nice restaurants, Plaza's and shopping close by. You can do it all by foot. Try to get a room facing the Ceramic Museum. Nice rooms and bathroom which are both spotless. The breakfast is also very good. If we go back to Valencia we will choose this hotel again.

The location of this hotel is great. It is literally walking distance from the Plaza de la Reina - which has the famous Cathedral which is said to be the home of the holy grail. The plaza also has a whole bunch of restaurants and bars. Also another 10 minute walk from the hotel will lead you to the City Center - where there is the main train station, the city's bull fighting ring and the city hall. From here you can easily get a bus to the City of Arts and Sciences. Its literally a 20 minute bus ride away and costs less than 2 Euros.
The street the hotel is on is lined with boutiques of Hermes, Armani and the like. The hotel itself is nice and clean and the rooms are very comfortable. And the staff is very sweet and helpful. Although we had some trouble with the language they did everything to help us out. I definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers to Valencia.

The SH Ingles hotel is situated on a quiet street just around the corner from Plaza de la Reina in the old town and an easy five to ten minute walk from Colon metro station. (The metro system is excellent and well priced and I would not hesitate in recommending it from the airport).

We arrived at 1pm which is 3 hours ahead of check in time and were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was ready. As requested by e-mail a few days before arrival we were given a good sized, bright, balcony room overlooking the ceramics museum with a proper kingsize bed (not 2 beds pushed together). The staff at check in were very friendly.

The room was spotless as was the bathroom. There was plenty of clothes storage space, a desk, a flat screened tv, a remote controlled A/C unit which worked very efficiently and quietly and a mini bar with quite reasonable prices. Unfortunately no tea and coffee making facilities but this is not unusual for Spanish hotels.

The bathroom was a reasonable size with a shower over the bath which was very powerful and there was always plenty of hot water, towels and toiletries.

The hotel has a restaurant which we didn't use and serves a buffet breakfast.

The hotel bar was reasonably priced and had a nice outside seating area and very friendly staff.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel and a pharmacy and bank across the road. The hotel is about a ten minute walk to the Turia riverbed park, and a five minute walk to both the Plaza Del Ayuntamiento and the Mercado Central.

A couple of reviews have mentioned a smell in the hotel and whilst I noticed this on the street outside a few times I never noticed a smell within the hotel at all.

We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
