“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

Noisey rooms!! There seemed to be a temporary bus park around the hotel and the road noise was terrible .The room it self was large and had a nice view ,The bathroom was ok and the beds were very not very comtortale. The freesat tv had no english channels . The food was not great and there was not a good choice.
The pool was closed and the bar facilties were not very good .Tthe hotel was a good 15 minute walk to the main beach and there was very little close to the hotel in the way of choice of restaurants and bars.
You need a car to get any where as the hotel is quite isolated.THE hotel is rated as a 3 *** hotel but feels more like a 2**

“Large rooms and nice location to the beaches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2010

The hotel has really large standard rooms with 1 king size bed and 1 extra bed. Every room has a sea view. The bathroom is well equipped and clean.
A pool area in just in front of the sea, so you can observe it from every room as well. The water pool is clean.
A big balcony has enough space to tan, there you will find a plastic table with 2 chairs.
Since the hotel has 2 wings, the sunrise is on the left wing and it is good for tan-lovers,
those who prefer to stay in the shadow (literally) would better ask for a room in the right wing.
The sea is in the walking distance: a 5-minute walk and you can find yourself looking for a place on a local beach. Beach is a sand one.
Umbrellas, towels and other summer staff can be bought in a small shop on the beach. There is a nice wooden seafront road good for jogging and for an afterlunch walking.
You can travel there without luggage and buy everything you need in one of these beach shops on in Torrevieja (Old Tower) city that is 10min by car from the hotel.
The main visitors to these hotel seemed to be familes with children and English pensioners who travel in groups and who made more noise than children do.
Actually the hotel cannot be labeled as a noisy one. Large balcony doors can save you from the noise born in water pool area.
Also there is a short animation program for children in the evening (at about 10p.m.). The animation is closed at a low-season.
Friendly staff can speak English well enough to call a taxi and to give you a key from the deposit box. A free Wi-Fi is offered in the hotel hall.
The breakfasts are good: a standard assortment of hot and cold dishes. The beer in a water pool area is twice more expensive than in a small shop 300 meters from the hotel, on the road down to the beach.
And if you want to drink the bought-in-the-hotel beer from a glass, please ask your waiter for this special option.
In the room you will find Spanish pillows which are 90x155sm, but not those about 70x70 which you are got used to. Please don't worry - this is the main disadvantage in this hotel and in the country sleep culture in general.
A parking area has a place for 10-12 cars.

“Dissapointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2008

We had stayed at this hotel some years ago and then the rooms were like small apartments.

The first room we were given was awful. The bedroom was almost an internal room. The only window was a frosted window onto the corridor and felt very claustraphobic. On complaining to the receptionist, she said that all the rooms were like that. However, she did offer to upgrade us to a family room. That was slightly better, the window was a proper window to outside.

Although the hotel has been renovated, some of the bathroom fittings were looking a little tired and there was black mould around the bath.

Breakfast was served buffet-style and there was a wide selection of cereals, cakes, toast, fruits, cold meats and bacon, fried eggs and baked beans. Also, juices, coffee and teas. However, the bacon and fried eggs were cold and slimey. They are strict about timings. One morning we were in the dining room about 9.45am and the waiter came round at 10am saying we only had 5 more minutes.

“Fabulous Gem of A Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2008

Have just returned from a wonderful 11 night break at the Cabo Cervera Hotel, on the outskirts of Torevieja.I was a single traveller, but was given the use of a fabulous double room, with seperate lounge area, TV, fridge and superb balcony overlooking the pool and the sea.

I stayed on a half board basis and can not praise the food highly enough. Breakfast choices were too many to mention but ranged from Continental to Full English, with everything else in between. (But for those who like English Tea it might be worth while taking a teabags with you!) Delicious choices of evening meal, again buffet style - with a chef on hand to grill things to just how you like them)

Prices of drinks comparible to those in the town centre - which could be easily reached either by bus (bustop right outside the hotel) or by taxi, which the reception staff would kindly arange for you.

Facilities were fantastic - lifeguard on hand at pools during the day, entertainment most nights in the hotel, mostly catered for European holiday makers, but if you like a hotel that isn't full of your typical Brits abroad, then this place is perfect.

Will definately be going back there! Excellent value for money and very friendly staff - a few words in Spanish goes a very long way! So buy a phrase book and get practising!

  • Disliked — Would have liked a little more English entertainmet/music
