We stayed here for Christmas. The staff didn't know what Xmas meals were available. We asked in early December when we first booked but nobody knew. We were told about a gala Christmas lunch a couple of days before we arrived. At 55 euros a head we declined and went for the buffet, which had the quality, but was very limited on hot food selection. The staff were very friendly and the room was good, but clearly, more in-house communication is needed.
We would rate this a three star hotel.

We decided to drive to Calpe from Bristol UK, stopping over a couple of times on France, we had requested a room no higher than the 6th floor and were given a room on the 9th!. Anyway a quick chat with the receptionist, who was extremely helpful resolved things and we ended up on the 6th floor after all. So that was good. We explored the hotel and were very impressed.
Come dinner time, off we went to the restaurant, were seated by the window and offered the wine list, we asked for a jug of water but were told we would have to buy bottled water or soft drinks and wines,we werent impressed that so went without a drink with the meal, we enjoyed starters from a very well stocked salad bar then went for the main course, basically we were there for 6 nights and possibly one or two dinners were reasonable the rest pretty drab to say the least. Sweets were OK. There was a pretty good selection for breakfast. Overall the dining experience was what made me decide on rating this hotel average.
The pools were not in the best of condition and gradually became more green with each passing day. However the poolstaff made every effort the return them to sparkling condition, unfortunately not in time for my dear lady wife to enjoy her daily swim.
We were given a discount on the bill to compensate for the pools.
Anyway, if we decide to drive to Calpe again you might be surprised to read that we would book the hotel again but would probably think about whether to go B&B or half board. I think if they sort the evening meals out there wont be a lot for anyone to complain about as the rest of the experience was very good and all staff very pleasant.
Calpe itself was very pleasant to walk around and as the weather was very good for the time of year the shops were staying open which was a bonus

We stayed at the diamante hotel in August 2011 and were more than satisfied with excellent service, polite and helpful stuff, clean rooms and very tasty food served in the hotel restaurants. The beach is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Our room was on the 10nth floor with breathtaking view over the sea and Ifachi mountain. Location was in the quite part of Calpe but still short walking distance from the city center. We had very enjoyable stay.

Really pleased as we drew up at the hotel,we were staying for 3 weeks so we always try to find somewhere comfortable and close to the prom.
the room was very nice ample storage and with a reasonable view. on the 6th floor.
The staff were excellent did all they could to be helpful. But then things went downhill.
Trying to get a drink at the bar was quite an ordeal,2 waiters for serving behind the bar,and
taking orders,never mind go for an early meal instead,well all the hot food was luke warm,or the dishes were empty,freshly grilled meat was hot but like old leather,we were offered stewed pigs trotters, and braised calves jaws!!! never ever come across these dishes before luckily they did have a very good salad bar,and the rolls were always fresh.
Once again there was a staff shortage,with all our dirty crockery from 3 courses still on the table when we left.After several complaints this did improve in week2.We could only take so much salad,so finished eating out which was fine, but we had paid to stay all inclusive so this made the holiday a lot more expensive.
Calpe is a lovely area and we will go back again but certainly not to the Diamante Beach.
