“Friendly, clean Hotel in perfect location”

We were travelling as a party of 6, (3 couples) for a long weekend to coincide with the Fiesta, and could not have found a better place to stay. The reception staff were both friendly and helpful at all times, and I cannot understand the negative comments from 'Montigobay' on this site. Regarding menus in spanish, what a surprise! You're in a spanish hotel in Spain for Gods sake. I'm not sure this person was actually in this place, balconies crumbling? - No, perfectly solid! Almost all the rooms have twin beds which can be put together as a double if you request, but perhaps attitudes towards staff may receive a better response. All six of us were extremely impressed with the attentiveness of the young receptionist (Tatiana), always greeting us with a smile and "can I help please".
The hotel is in a perfect location at the edge of the old town, and well away from the embarrassing and sometimes disgusting behaviour of some of our fellow Brits at the tatty end of the resort. NEVER go round the crap bars in new town when England have just beaten Spain!! Although I will say, if you drink the spirits in the new town, you could probably drive back, there's more alcohol in a packet of Maynards wine gums.
The old town is totally different, the streets were decorated up for the Fiesta, and there were fireworks, (boy were there fireworks), more like explosions, and we didn't really appreciate them at 8.00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings heralding the start of the festivities. But at night, the lovely little tapas bars were in full swing, and mingling with the locals was fantastic, a short walk up to the plaza overlooking the harbour and bay for amazing views, the Hotel is in the perfect location.
We all agreed this will be our choice next time in Benidorm.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view, we did, and got 3 rooms next to each other.

“do not even think about going here if you are british.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

Hotel was not very user friendly to Brits, menu for the restaurant was only in Spanish-I asked why and was told by staff "we do not need it in this hotel, I will tell you what is written!" very rude. Booked double room-got twin beds, balcony was crumbling, room was right above kitchen asked for different room-no way were they going to change because we booked through go compare before we left-not direct with the hotel. Would not reccommend this place to anyone.

Room Tip: go somewhere else

“Couldn`t have been better value”

Perfect location, step outside the front door onto the promenade and beach and 2 minutes from the old town.
I requested 4 twin rooms facing the sea which were allocated on arrival.
The staff couldn`t have been more accommodating during our 4 day stay.
If you need a high powered hair dryer, I suggest you take your own.

“Ideal Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2010

A group of 5 adults stayed here for 2 nights in July. My husband and I had room 501 on the top floor overlooking the promanade and beach. Room was very large with twin beds and two pull-down beds as well. Bath rooms as quite small, but adequate with a few sachets of shampoo, gel etc. Flat screen TV and table and chairs in room, and masses of storage space. Not modern furniture, but more 'quaint'. Internet was 2 euros a day.

The only thing lacking was a fridge, and the a/c was struggling with the heat.

The other couple we were with had a normal size twin room, which was still a reasonable size, and my sister in law, who was on her own, was also given a twin room, both of which had side sea views.

All rooms were very clean, with new towels each day.

The hotel caters for mainly Spanish, but all the reception staff were able to speak English, and were very friendly and helpful.

We were on a/o so can't comment on food, but they had a restaurant which was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the basement.

Hotel is ideally situated for the old town, being minutes away from Estabans Restaurant, and surrounded by many more eating places and bars.

We booked through booking.com, and had double room for 84 euros a night and single for 45 euros a night, which I thought was very good value in high season, especially as not many hotels would accept a 2 night booking.

If visiting Benidorm for a short break again, we would definitely consider this hotel again.

“Will be going back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2008

The location of this hotel was great for a relaxing holiday, literally step out of the hotel and on to the beach and one minute to Old Town, about 15 minute walk along the beach to the new Town. We had a seaview room which was lovely. The room was basic but very clean, the maids came in every day and the towels were changed daily. This hotel caters for mainly Spanish, the menus and signs were in Spanish but we didn't eat at the hotel anyway with so many great restaurants in the Old Town. You can buy a continental breakfast for 4 euro but we usually found an English Breakfast somewhere. (We particularly like Sherry's up near the castle or the Honeypot for breakfast and Paniels, Michaels or De Ja Vu for evening meals). The reception staff spoke good English and were very nice, helpful and pleasant. Bilbaino is closed from mid November to March but we will definitely go back next year, what it lacks in facilities (no pool etc) it makes up for in location and service. We booked through xcapewithus.com but can be booked direct by phone, details and photos on www.hotelbilbaino.com.
