stayed at playamar 5th nov for 1 week, very dated and abit tatty but nice staff and a lovely huge balcony that got the sun all day, we were on the 13th floor, so got fantastic views,
further from the beach than what was advertised, but if its as the crow flys spot on!
would definately stay again but would of liked a bowl to eat my special k out of instead of a pan

I stayed at the Playamar Apartments in October 2011

Being a budget traveller I found these apartments very spacious, much larger than most apartments I have stayed in. The balcony is huge. However there is not much of a view as it is looking onto wasteland.

It is right next to the outdoor market.

It is about a 10 minute walk to the nightlife and i would not recommend walking it alone at night.

Although I would not choose this as a first choice when I visit next, if I was looking for accommodation for a larger group then this would be ideal.

first impressions count.I was dropped off by shuttle transfer,the driver pointed in the general direction of some buildings.i was not confident that i was at the correct accommodation.The sign was not visible from drop off point,
when i entered the apartment i was hit by a smell of beer.The place was very basic and not overly clean, stains on walls & bedsheets
.I am a late night reveller in Benidorm, I found the walk home at night very lonely and a bit scary [and I am a really big bloke].A bar owner warned me that it can be a bit dangerous in that area.However,I did not experience any problems.
I would not return to Playmar, my impression was that it is a residential area,not tourist.

the playamar is quite a distance from he beach contrary to what we were made believe by thomas cook. the hotel itself was very basic and on first impressions we were devastated it was like a jail, with the only window being the patio doors! the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom had no windows! our view from our patio wasnt inviting so we spent very little time here. the kitchen had no plates or bowls just cups and saucers, the rooms were clean enough, we asked for clean towels on the second day and on the third day a maid arrived with some, although the rooms were not cleaned or beds changed during our stay. the pool area was untidy and there was cat [--] in the pool. the area seems a big dodgy, i wouldnt like to be walking about here at night alone or in a group of girls. we had no sleep on the second night as a group of lads were very loud running amock until 6am!!
on the plus side the staff were helpful
