We have stayed many different places over the years in benidorm from the very basic to the 4* and have always been happy according to the money we have paid, we have always passed the belroy and said we will stay there one time. So, this being our only trip this year we opted for the more expensive apts for 7 nights £489 for two which we thought was ok, the hotel which is at the front is very lovely on entering, lovely black marble with white furnishings and very clean and tidy. The staff on reception I have to agree with other reviewers they were not the friendliest of people and did little to help, but we were in the apts so had little to do with them. The two outdoor pools are lovely and safe with shallow ends and graduated steps for those of us who don't like the side ladder thing, lots of sun beds too. a lovely warm indoor pool with graduated steps again, really nice and hot, with jacuzzi and hot tub, nice gym and sauna but be aware if you are of limited mobility you have to go down about 4 steep steps to the indoor heated pool and really very steep steps to the gym and sauna which have no ramp. On saying this the hotel and apts are well ramped for wheelchair and walker use all areas are open. Now, In the hotel rooms be aware also that there is not much in them, they go for the minimalistic look, a bed, a tv and a mini bar, no fridge kettle or nothing, so if you like you cuppa bring your travel one. We didnt stay int he hotel but could see into the hotel rooms over from us and they looked sparse. The apts are just at the back of the hotel and over look the main street, we were a bit worried about noise but never heard a thing when the patio doors were shut. We were on the 10th floor with a wrap around balcony, patio doors to the first balcony off the lounge, next side balcony off the bedroom with a futher lovely balcony out the back of the apts when it got too hot it was lovely to sit here in the shade. Nice views right out to the beach and surrounding areas. The apts were spotless, only a tiny thing if we are being picky, the doors all looked as if someone had rubbed them down ready for painting, like primed them, it looked a bit odd but to be honest it didnt take away from the fact they were lovely. A big lounge with a big double sofa bed but a proper one mind not like a wee ikea thing it was fully sprung with very supportive cushions, lots of pillows and blankets in the lounge for the people sleeping in there. They also had their own wardrobe and drawers plenty room. A nice dining room table and chairs not plastic plenty room for everyone around the table, lovely fitted kitchen with all mod cons, really nice big oven/mico/grill combination which after a couple of times was easy to use, a huge new fridge with ice box and tea towels cups glasses of every size pots pans coffee maker juicer and every size of plates, you name it it was there for you. A welcome pack as well, a big water, tea bags coffee and milk which was nice we found that a lovely touch. A big family bathroom with bidet and an average size bath, not really suitable i would say for a disabled person i felt a bit wobbly getting in and out but again I am sure if i had asked they would have moved us to a apt with a wet floor shower as i know they have them. all toiletries there for you, shampoo shower gel, soap, toothpaste etc, towels changed every two days and sheets every 4 days i think i remember, nice friendly maids, 6 toilet rolls in the loo which is unusual for apts and restocked, big wardrobes in the main bedroom which had loads room for drawers and space as well and another cupboard in the room you wont be stuck for space. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which is nice if there are 4 of you (there were only two of us) TV shows sky sports and sky news also BBC world news. A safe in the room which reception give you a key for. On arrival you can give 100 euros deposit of a copy of a credit card which is then shredded when you leave. Overall we were delighted with the Belroy and would happily go back again, it was 3 times as much as our usual apts which are the primivera dos just next to the open air market but i did find for the extra we had lots of special treats like the indoor heated pool jacuzzi hot tub etc. The dining hall is quite formal and i am glad we didnt opt for full board as we would not have felt comfortable in there, we didnt see a lot of kids around and Im not sure that i would have felt it was a hotel for children especially with all the marble flooring which leather furniture etc, its not that its not suitable for kids its just that as a mum of 5 kids when mine were young i think i would have felt this to be for an older client, couples or friends. All in all we will go back to the belroy, not in the spring as we will return to our cheap and cheerful primevera dos.
