Arrived outside the hotel to find it closed, spent three hours trying to sort out where we would be staying! Ended up at the Magic Rock Gardens, not a bad hotel if it was finished, the builders were friendly!! asked for tea & coffee making facilities and got a kettle, no cups or tea or coffee! However the electricians were great and did install a reading light on our third night after i asked them to make safe the bear wires in our headboard! The hotel staff were really friendly and tried to be helpful. Very disappointed that the Magic group are allowing low cost holidays to take bookings for a holiday that dosn't exist and a replacement hotel that's not finished

arrived at Alicante airport and got information and transfer bus to tropicana suites................ bus dropped us off and left us stood outside a shut down hotel. Yes shut down. so to was the sister hotel Magic Rock hotel. a notice was on the window to find another hotel Benidorm villas. we had to walk and find our way to this hotel to find that we were not booked in there either. we had to take a taxi to another hotel crystal park were they offered our family of 4 2 adults and 2 children 1 room of 3 and a room of 1. finaly by evening we had our rooms sorted and unpacked. After talking to many other holiday makers they were to treat the same. some were lucky and got told at the airport.... BEWARE........... these chains of Hotels are shut down for renivation (MAGIC HOTEL GROUP) all bookings are still being taken even though these hotels are shut down.

We stayed at Tropicana Suites in July. We were a large group of 8 adults and 4 children. The Magic hotels system means you can enjoy the other Magic hotels as well as your own. The Tropicana suites have limited entertainment facilities but just over the road
( 100 yards) is the Magic Rock Gardens which is huge and has all day and all night entertainment. I enjoyed the quiter atmosphere of the Tropicana Suites. The pool was great fun and the children enjoyed the play area in the hotel. The apartments are basic and not two bedroomed but adequate. We had a great balcony but I think a lot of the apartments do not have balconies. The food was great and plenty of variety for the kids as well. We went down the hill into the town and used Magic Villa de Benidorm hotel which was also very good. This is also a smaller hotel with a lovely pool. Good value for money but basic hotel. Some of our party preferred the Magic Rock Gardens for food in the evening but the flexibility to go to both is a bonus ! Quick walk or taxi into the town. The hill is fine to walk up even with a three year old grandson. Most Benidorm hotels are on a hill anyway.

We arrived at the Suites a bit nervous after reading the awful reviews on here, which I now find completely unjustified.
We did not have to pay a deposit on arrival (it was advertised but there was no charge)and staff were friendly enough, Our room wasn't quite ready but we were given our all inclusive card and went to get a drink.
The rooms were spacious and clean, the maids changed towels and bedding regularly.
The food at the Suites is limited in selection but it takes just a couple of minutes to get to the Rock Gardens just up the road which has much more choice.
There is no entertainment at night and only a small bar but again you can go to the Rock Gardens or walk into town to go to the Villa Benidorm which is also part of the magic chain not far from the two Sol hotels and use your all inclusive card there.
Sunbeds are limited and if you want one you need to be down by the door to the pool at about 9:45 or they will all be gone but again you can use any of the other hotels especially the Excalibur or Monika.
The walk from town can be steep but try out the surrounding roads some are less steep than others.
We felt like we got what we paid for - why would you expect 4/5* on a 3* budget
