We booked this holiday as a last minute bargain so we were not expecting anything great just a last minute pre Christmas break, we were about to be pleasantly surprised. The hotel is on the edge of the old town and first impressions we were surrounded by other large hotels we would have very limited views which proved to be the case but within a few minutes’ walk you could be down on the seafront or in The L’Aiguera Park, also nearby was a decent shopping area.
The hotel facilities leave a lot to be desired i.e. the swimming pool never has the sun directly on it and it would be a brave person who went into the rooftop Jacuzzi in the middle of December. But the rooms were good, the bar and dining areas clean and well maintained and the staff were cheerful and helpful, good food and fairly strong all inclusive drinks added to the enjoyment. The majority of the guests were Spanish and we found that by joining in the daytime activities we were able to mix well with the Spanish and enjoy a warm welcoming atmosphere. In many ways it was very different to our usual Spanish holidays but all four of the group I was with said we would not hesitate to return. A lot of credit should go to Jason the animation staff manager his calm relaxed approach had all age groups and nationalities mixing well and vying for a diploma.
