well i have just visited benidorm for the second time and love it, this time stayed in a 3 star hotel called the calas marina half board, so ill start by saying this was more like a 1 star hotel they do not cater for the english if you are spanish then you are well in, i have 2 young children and i had to pay 1.25 euro to go to the centre of benidorm by bus as there is nothing in the area, or if you wanted to walk it is a good 4 mile walk. the hotel was very clean and fresh towels every day and the beds where made every day the rooms are very basic we had 4 single beds in one room with a bathroom and shower and a very small balcony so you got what you payed for. for breakfast you could have a choice of ceral, spanish bacon, boiled eggs, cobs, toast, ham, cheese, hot dog sausages. meat, cake, biscuits, yogurt and fruit, to drink there was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juice.
evening was a bit better with a soup for starter, salad. meats. cheese. a hot meal potatos or chips, fish, sausages, beef (cold) raveola, not much No hot puddings, all the meals where cold but there was a microwave to heat the dinner up. plus no drinks at night unless you want to pay for them, we had water which we had to pay 2 euros for. the pool is very small and there was no sun on it. there was entertainment but all in spanish, the reception were usless and could not speak english so if you had a problem then you were stuffed. Hotel bar doesnt open till 2pm so i would recommend the jolly sailer just down the road. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly not return.
