“Perfectly Adequate and very good value”

We had reservations after reading some of the reviews but were very happy with the accommodation-very clean and bright, very spacious, all kitchen facilities you could need and comfortable beds. Only minor problem was maids didn't come in to empty bins but we just tood our rubbish out so it was no bit deal. It's close to main road so can be noisey if you have windows open. I would stay there again if I wanted a budget apartment.

Stayed at Don Salva appartments for 10 days over the Christmas period this is the third time i've stayed in these appartments in 2011, again the staff were very helpful and polite the room was extremely clean and tidy the place is right in the middle of the old and new towns so minutes away from all that Benidorm has to offer.

“don salva / moan”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Went for xmas /new year

it was not our chosen apartments,so it was never going to live up to our expectations

we have kids so picked the terralta apartments ,but 1 week before xmas Ola holidays said we were double booked ... yea really ... we booked 6 months before ... in june .

stayed on the 19th floor with 2 kids ,a 6 year old and a 10 year old ?,the pool was closed , there was no 1 in reception ,( when there was if you wanted somthing it was answered with " tommorrow" , which somtimes did not come ). no furniture in reception to rest those weary legs after all that traveling

the room wasnt that bad really , but 2 single beds and a sofa bed is not ideal for 4 people wanting to relax on holiday
ive read the other reviews of it being a budget or cheap holiday , id love to know what you paid

so Ola holidays spoiled our christmas really .

“Some changes?”

This isthe second time we've stayed at the Don Salva. the first time l was disappointed with the staff who seemed more intent on entertaining the police next door. Now the police station has gone. So has the bar they always used to frequent and the shop. One man was occasionally at reception although arriving went smooth. I was not asked for a deposit as expected which is probably a good thing as nobody was there when we checked out so l had to leave the key at reception and hope nobody uses it. Clean sheets were supplied once during the week, the TV was pretty bad but you don't go to benidorm to watch TV. The apartment was clean basically equipped but adequate. There's a bit of a hill to walk up after a night out but you are ideally placed between old town and levante. 10-15 minute walk.
Avoid taking the shortcut past my favourite hotel the Rio Park down the yellow brick road, which is rapidly becoming mugger's alley. We witnessed several muggins there and people seem to regard the risk as a necessary evil. l raised this issue many years ago when thieves tried ti snatch my wife's handbag. Now we see a gang of youths parked at the top awaiting their next victim. Hunting in packs they are above the law and on one occasion waved their earnings at us as if it was a trophy.
The hotel management are not interested, infact when my wife tried to report it to the receptionist he found it very amusing.
The police turn a blind eye to it. A police car drove past the thieves in waiting. They know who they are and what they do, but the thieves have a free run of the place.
The only people left are the holiday companies, who l'm sure will supply the stock answer of we're listening and will take action. In truth we're all hotel fodder and that's all. i think that it's time we stood up and stopped booking these holidays where crooks operate not above the law but within their own law.
l was robbed on new years eve in benidorm, so were several others. When l reported the matter to the police they said that there has been a lot of robberies, as did the insurance company and i'm curious how many more people have suffered the same fate and why are we so happy to put up with it? ln these times of recession people need to realise that to keep our custom they need to work for us. That includes the police, holiday companies and hotel owners. We have been to Benidorm scores of times over many years, but l'm going right off it.

“Ok At The Don Salva.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Reception- Check in went smoothly on arrival. It did say at the time of booking that we would have to leave a deposit for any damage etc, but at no point was we asked for this during our stay.
I was noting expecting too much of the place, because of the price that we had paid to stay their, but I must say that I was quiet suprised with the room. Towels were provided in the room, but they were not changed during our four night stay, and there was not any maid service provided to us during them days as well. The room had free air con. and the room also had the following- Electric cooker,Some sort of toaster, usual cups and pans, kettle, fridge,tv (Only one English channel though).

The reception is not open 24hrs, but there is a caretaker that lives on site.

There is a small swimming pool at the Don Salva, but it's not signed posted, thus we did not find out about it until we checked out. LOL

The place was like a ghost town most of the time, we did not see other guests very often, and there was no noise. And that was strange for such a big place.

We asked to keep the room on during our last day, but we was told no, but we could put our stuff in a secure room though.

There was nothing on site food or drink wise except for two vending machines near reception.

In closing, I would state that I would stay at this place again without having to think about it, even though it's a bit out of the way from the action.
