first trip with the entire family to spain stayed at the condal for 3 nights (21st august to 24th august 2005)... we have a son of 11 and a baby of 4 months ... i understand and speak some spanish ... we found the hotel easily because we were using a "GPS system" ...but had trouble parking the car...the hotel has no car-park but is close to a closed public car-park which costs 13 euros/day... we arrived quite late but there was someone at the reception... there's always someone at the reception... they all speak a bit of english... we found the room quite small but clean and tidy... they managed to fit a baby cot in the room as well ...but it took some knocking of knees to move around ...go to the huge balcony ... which was nearly as big as the room itself...only the rooms on the fifth floor had balconies that big...towels were changed daily... the price we paid included a buffet breakfast and one meal...you have to buy your drinks when having lunch or dinner... otherwise the chef did not offer any spanish specialities while we were there apart from a gaspacho and spanish omelet with potatoes... food offered was simple...fried potatoes, pasta, some vegies, letuce salads and tomatoes, fish, chicken wings and roasted porc is all that i remember ...plenty of watermelon!
i didn't like the smell of smoke in the corridors and in the lift with the baby
oh and the hotel has a pool the about the size of an eigth of an olympic swimming pool on the roof but it closes too early... at 8.00pm ...usually the time you come back from the beach!!
