just got back from 4 day mini break. good quality apartment and excellent position for benidorm just across road from indoor market. very clean everything you need even washing machine.some reviews moan about showers but we had no problem.very secure good quiet pool and convenient location.As with most benidorm apartments 100 euro deposit is required on arrival and given back when keys handed in.confusion on arrval as no reception but found out you get keys during daytime from travel agents 2 doors away and at night from nearby nero hotel.would definatley go again.some reviews put us off a bit but all our fears changed and turned out to be the total opposite.worth a try for quality and location

My wife and i stayed in the Loixmar for 2 weeks over Sept/Oct. The coach dropped us off at the Dynastic Hotel and we eventually found our way to the Folie Vacances offices on the opposite side of a busy road (Ave de Ametlla de Mar) to pick up our keys from a well-mannered Spanish lady and made our way to the apartments. A nice ornate gate leads to a courtyard where through another locked ornate door we reached the lift (2 lifts) that took us to the 7th floor and to our apartment. Everything was basically what it it was described as but on closer inspection somethings were not up to scratch or indeed safety standard! The Loixmar block is very secure needing 3 keys to reach your abode and is on a busy, well lit road, close to everything you need, supermarkets, bars, shops, taxi's (opposite) and all types of eateries. On our first night we found the beds extremely uncomfortable, my wife complained that her bed was like sleeping on a board and on lifting the mattress, lo and behold, there was a BOARD! (see photo's if you don't believe me) the beds were cheap, small and nasty and we had to resort to doubling-up by using the mattresses from the sofabed! Other things that came to our notice that could prove dangerous was an iron that had a twisted lead with wires exposed and the fuse box with no cover! The sofabed in the pictures were covered in a lovely, blue designed cover but on sitting on this it moved around with you, it was just a throw over sheet and exposed filthy cushions when it shifted. My wife went down and explained about the iron and it was replaced immediatley. The ironing board was a clapped-out joke, basic indeed! On the second day we decided to sunbathe by the pool but the door was locked and on inquiring we were told the pool was empty because they had found a 'bug' so no pool or sunbathing at the Loixmar for a WEEK! The Loixmar is situated perfectly for access to the showbars and entermaint, we found the Stardust good mainly because of the very rude comedian, Tony Scott, so don't take your maiden aunt! Other places were Steptoes, Morgans all about 5 mins walk from the flat. To the right of the Loixmar is a good bar, Admiral Nelson and further up is Rachels and the Rock n Roll bar with the Yorkshire Bar all suppling 4 to 5 acts each night with no cover charge but with the drinks above the average but we had some brilliant nights with various tribute acts (Van Morrison, Cher, Abba, Lady Ga Ga, Tina Turner etc.) So if you want to go to the Loixmar and are prepared to rough it, especially if your young this the place for you and is a cheap alternative to more expensive apartments or hotels. The 2 ladies in the Foles Vacances treated us with respect and dealt with our enquiries courteously. This review was our experience and yours will in all probability be different so if you're planning to go, then go but be forewarned all is not as it seems no matter how 'cheap' it is! stayed 20th june 2011 .30 euro a head deposit room basic had three rooms only 1 had air con that not up to much .rooms basic but you get what you pay for very secure three keys to get to your room pool ok got beds easy carnt use lilo in pool.close to all gud pubs turn left at kfc gud pub mufc bar does av nice pint

These apartments are a cheap base to stay at. From reading the reviews myself before I stayed - I think that maybe they are more geared up for winter customers. The last review stating that there was not enough hot water for one shower was no exaggeration ! The sunbathing area is nothing to write home about but ok for an hour or so if you don't want to venture far. Our apartment was clean so no complaints there. The office that runs the apartments simply don't seem to know what they are doing. One of my friends arrived earlier than us and was told that there was no record of our booking, because of this she was sent over to another block, this also happened to another group of girls on the same day. I have to say that Travel Republic were brilliant and a quick phone call sorted our problem out. The office opens at strange hours and isn't always open the hours it states. We arrived on a sunday and were asked to give a 100 euro deposit on the wednesday - I felt very uneasy about this because of the office opening hours so just ignored the request - only to receive an absolute rollocking from a very nasty english blonde haired woman when I handed the keys in !! Do read the earlier reviews because they give some great tips on where to go to shop and eat in the vicinity. Do venture into the old town - its a lovely walk along the prom or is around 7 euro's in a cab - the rank being right outside the apartments. The girls I mentioned who were sent to a much nicer apartment block because of the mix up with their booking had their apartment robbed when they went out - someone entered with a key and took all their jewelry, i phones, money etc. This happens all over the world and is not just a problem with Benidorm or these apartments, tourists will always be targeted so please lock your valuables in your suitcase! I wouldn't return to these apartments myself as I would prefer to stay in the lovely old town next time I visit, however they are good value for money - a cold shower isn't the end of the world and we were hardly ever in them !! This is the first time I have done self catering in Benidorm and thoroughly enjoyed eating out - the restaurants are great value and your money does go a long way, you can get a lovely chineese meal for 5 euro including wine. Our favourite beach was the little beach right by the harbour in the old town and do drop into the Intimate bar for a great karaoki evening with Robert and Ian !!
