Had booked the Gemelos XXII,with Travel Republic, but on arrival Fincas Arena there agents, said apartment was flooded out,so were allocated an apartment here. There is a very long story regarding attempting to get the keys, then finding this building, then finally gaining entry,it went on 3 hours, with very little help, from Fincas Arena, and four taxi journeys.Had to endure one night here, refusing to spend any longer. The lady next door informed us that the apartment "gets robbed",the Police had instructed that two locks be fitted.Screwdriver marks could be seen where the offenders had returned and were now attempting to enter by popping the second lock. When we eventually gained entry,it was clean enough, but very poorly furnished, broken bed,,and generally depressing.I spent the night,on the balcony, watching the lowlife that frequent this area.I have since found out that one of the main Police Stations is located in the same road, which would account for the number of undesirables hanging around.I am no shrinking violet, having spent 30 years in the Police, most of it in Birmingham City centre, but this place is where i would have normally carried out early morning raids, certainly not two weeks holiday.
What would have happened if we were OAPs or invalid, hate to think.
Got allocated another apartment in a better area, the next day by an half apologetic girl,in Fincas Arena, which was basic but fantastic compared to Finlandia, and had a lovely holiday in the end.
Be very warned folks.
