“Absolutely Terrible”

We just got back from hotel Bali we went for a long all inclusive weekend, after reading the reviews I was dreading it unfortunately the reviews were right!! The hotel staff are very ignorant towards the British, the food is not that good especially for a 4 star hotel....
We went to go and use the Jacuzzi and the gym and you had to pay 6 euro each for the Jacuzzis and 6 euro for the gym!!
One word of warning if you are all inclusive be careful what to expect we booked from Friday to Monday the all inculsive stopped at 12 monday afternoon, and our flight wasn't until 20:30 that evening...we had to Buy Drinks and it cost £5.60 for 2 small cokes!!!

“good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2008

We always choose a 4* and I would say this 5 year old hotel is up to that standard. It is huge, and towers over the whole of the resort. Some view from the 43rd floor observation area.
Room was excellent for three of us, the third bed being in a separate room on the opposite side of the nice bath/shower room. I cannot say if all rooms are the same. Ours was room 2001 in the tower ( 20th floor room one) with a panoramic view of whole area. 5 very fast lifts, and two exterior glass lifts if you can stomach it.
There is an adjacent block, not so high, overlooking pools, with very very nice balconies. I think that is refered to as block one.

very wide food selection, especially breakfast. Preferred the larger lower floor resteraunt.
Bus No12 from just round side of hotel to right takes you direct into benidorm centre and main beach for only ONE Euro flat fare.
In opposite direction (get on opposite chemist on main road)
takes you to next smaller very nice beach, a good Irish pub, and eventually to hypermarket and retail outlet where bus terminates.

“Classy Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2007

Went for a week of winter sunshine to the Gran Hotel Bali which is situated at the south end of the Poniente Beach in the small resort of La Cala/Finestrat.
This resort is ideally situated if you want a quieter trip to Benidorm but only a short 1 Euro bus trip into the main resort which has all the usual comedians etc.

The hotel itself is only four years old with 43 floors and room views to die for. The rooms are ample for a four star establishment and the food is good also although, being full board, we did get a wee bit sick of it by the end of our week. (Probably caused by eating too much, I suppose).

The staff were very helpful and friendly and can't really find anything to complain about at all. If I were nitpicking a bit, I suppose the Spanish conferences who descended on the hotel from time to time were a bit invasive, but thats about it.

“Rip off”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2007

We stayed in the Hotel Bali in 2005, we didnt book we just took a chance and walked in, they only had a suite available that slep four people, we were with friends so we decided to book even though it cost approx 495 euros per night, it was our friends birthday so we thought why not, however apart from a few gadgets in the suite and a few extras we were not impressed, we stayed for 2 nights, the first night we went down to the restaurant where a women had passed out by the buffet and it took half an hour for medics to turn up, food was not good, we were half board but did not eat there again. The views were stunning from our room, we were on the 42nd floor but would not book there again. This Hotel is not a 4 star, and the restaurant was more like a school dinner hall with people rushing to get the food when the trays came out of the kitchen.

“Average Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2006

Just came back from the Hotel Bali, not impressed for a four star hotel and should not be classed as one by the holiday companies, three star at best. Food average, staff plesant, but did not go out of their way to help you. Dirty glasses in bar, hotel room definatley not clean enough for a four star hotel. Good choice of three pools, however the surrounding area especially the sun loungers were absolutely filthy for days on end. On the positive side trip to the viewing platform is a must, but the charge for residents of one euro is ridiculous and should be free. The comedy moment of the whole holiday, was the fawlty towers incident one morning at breakfast where, and english family (not us) noticed a cockroach under the table and screamed, attracted the attention of a waiter who ignored the cockroach as if it did not excist and went about his business as usual. This was the butt of many one liners between me and my husband with a fawlty towers theme. Cockroach what cockroach it is a sultana with legs etc. etc. Thats enough about the hotel, there is an excellant cafe close by called Yago near the bus stop for the no. 5 and no. 12 bus. Here you can sit drink coffee, eat icecream or pastries and watch lots of accidents. People knocked off bikes, cars crashing into each other etc. etc. If you are thinking of hiring a car I have never seen so many accidents on average 1 per day. Phesant Plucker deserves a mention, Good Cider and Larger, plus dj good, but be aware it only opens from 7pm till late, go if you can, out of hotel turn left up bank, can't miss it. Top tip for finding the beach, go to Yago and then head down hill 5 mins later you are on the beach and a lovely beach it is too. Bus no. 5 is only 1 euro and takes you into town. If you are ever travelling to Benidorm on business, the Bali is a good hotel, but my personal choice is the Levante Club on the Levante side of Benidorm, which has a nicer atmosphere.
