We have just returned from a very nice week @ this hotel, we found the staff very helpful and friendly, Esp. the guy on Reception Jose, who was very helpful when my wife had her purse stolen as we got off the coach outside the Calypso, he was also obliging when requesting a lower floor than 7. Found the free (WiFi) very useful (just ask at reception for the code).
The TV remote and hair dryer were €20 each to hire, although there seemed to be only about 5 channels in our room.
The average age of guests was about 60+ we were for the 1st half of the week the youngest @ 40+.
The food was reasonable, some days great some not so, but as ever there was always something to eat, custard everyday, looked very lumpy but certainly wasnt when eaten, as ever with foreign countries some very random offerings like toad in the hole a sausage wrapped in pastry, the waiter Fransisco was very friendly mocking me for not knowing my room number when entering the dining room, the Maitre'D was quite friendly although everytime you walked past him he would ask if you were ok, but rather this than rudeness.
The evening entertainment was again enjoyable, we took part in the quiz twice in Playa 1 and the quiz master was fun but he was useless (in the best possible way) missing questions and giving wrong answers, but it does all add to the fun.. If you win make sure when you go to the bar to collect your free drink MAKE SURE YOU LET THE BARMAN KNOW YOU ARE THE QUIZ WINNER or it gets overly complicated..
We saw 2 acts in Playa 2, Copy Cats & Johnny Kalendar both were really good.
Not sure if i would go here in peak season but certainly a great base for a nice winter break.
Just go and have fun......
