Just returned from 9 days all inclusive here and I booked the hotel Agua azul because of the location and price There were v few British staying there but this does not bother me.
..The food was variable but there was always something that I could eat .The one strange thing was that there must have been a supply problem with some of the food as there seemed to get less fruit selection and other items as the week progressed.
As regards cleanliness the hotel was spotless including the bedrooms and there was a v good shower and comfortable beds.I had a bit of a problem with communicating with reception staff as there was a discrepancy with my booking and I was under the impression that i would have to move rooms. They seemed not to be happy that I was occupying a double room as a single traveller even though I had requested this with the central reservations office and this was the room I was given on checking in.
I found most of the staff to be miserable towards the British customers especially in the bar and dining room.
Entertainment was geared towards the older Spanish clientele but you cannot complain as they were in the majority.
The pool area was kept clean but there were less than a dozen sunbeds so getting one was usually impossible.
The location is less than 5 mins from the Old town and 5 mins from the beach.and shops.
a bit of refurbishment is needed in the bar and public areas.but for a 3 star hotel with reasonable prices it is not bad as you get what you pay for usually.
I would stay again but on my regular visits in the winter I prefer a 4 sar hotel with a bit more comfort.
