Classy hotel, local area looks great but the demographic is 70% working class noisy British with no culture.

Unfortunatly this nice hotel is in the wrong location. I will never ever return... these low class local morons make me feel ashamed to take my British passport out of my purse.

This was our 5th visit to Hotel Cimbel for The Benidorm November Fiesta - the reception staff are excellent ! All rooms to the front of the hotel (sea view) are magical - waking up to that view is priceless !
The housekeeping is excellent - the hotel is very clean . Breakfast is very good with a great choice - Evening meal is 4 courses and you do have to be careful what you order as the menu and language does sometimes clash - if I was being hyper critical I would suggest reducing to 3 courses (do away with the middle course) maybe this would allow an increase to the main course. But the value of H/B to B/B is a very cost effective arguement - eating out every night can add a lot to any holiday - we tend to eat out at least once (the fish restaurant at the far end of the Poniente is worth a visit). Anyway 5 visits speaks for itself and for Benidorm - The Cimbel is our only choice - we have already agreed that we will be going back next year (2012).

I stayed at the Cimbel with three friends and had requested seaview rooms, but were allocated side seaview rooms which were disappointing. We complained and were changed the next day to the front of the hotel. What a view - the best in Benidorm. The hotel isn't cheap but the view is worth it. You can sit on the terrace or lie by the pool and people watch all day with a cocktail or two. We were half board and the dinner is waiter service with little choice which was made even worse as one of our friends is vegetarian - we asked if we could change to lunch which was buffet style and this suited us better as there was more of a choice for our friend. Breakfast is also limited but enough to do - not for the typical British guest as there aren't the usual fry ups.
The hotel is spotless and rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. It's mostly Spanish, Dutch and German guests staying at the hotel as we were told by one of the staff and definitely they are of the more mature age. which didn't bother us as there was no rowdiness and you could get a good nights sleep. Rooms were lovely and quiet even though it is right on the beach front.
The location of the hotel is superb, halfway between the old town and the new town so you don't need taxis or have to walk a long way. Couldn't be better.
Would I go back to this hotel - most definitely - going to book for next year.

Stay at this hotel for 3 night and what a let down. This hotel needs a good over haul,the only plus for this hotel was the location and possibly the pool.the rooms were outdated the food was waiter service with very little choice. The bedroom was as bad, no bedside lights just main lights, the bathroom was the same, old brown hairdryer on the wall as you found in all hotels in spain in the 80s,and has got to be one off the smallest bathroom I have come across. This 4 star hotel should only be a 3 star with some serious updating, and it was not very good valve for money.
