“Comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

Comfortable hotel. 2 pleasant lounges. Nice wide selection of food, though little beef – and this rather tough. Bacon a little underdone for our tastes. Few English in October – advantage? Arrived late to find on wakening that we had no balcony despite description on website. Reception put this down to booking ‘standard room’, but soon moved to acceptable side room – take care! Would unhesitatingly use same hotel should we return to Benidorm.

“Wonderful.....”

Fantastic Hotel, Fantastic staff & fantastic view from our room! Cant fault this hotel. Staff very pleasant from the word go. All we had to do was ask and them & they were they to help. Some staff seemed to have rough exteria, but that was due to being busy (& possibly Spanish?!) Once you got to know them, they were all great. Food was plentlyful, service outstanding. Will be visiting again without a doubt.

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2008

We were staying for a week in a villa in Javea and for my boyfriend's birthday we decided to have a night in Benidorm. We booked the Sol Costablanca as they would let us have a 1 night booking and it looked like a decent hotel. We originally wanted to stay at the Sol Pelicanos but they would only let us book for a week.

We drove the 1.5 hours to Benidorm with our overnight bag, found the hotel fairly easily and managed to park the car just outside the gates to the car park (you needed a card to get in - available from reception). We were greeted (if that word can be used) by Marcos. He asked us for our passports (as we were staying in a villa we didn't even think to bring these) and when we told him we didn't have them he was not a happy chappy at all (not that he was happy to start with). Luckily he accepted my credit card and driving license but boy did he make us feel like outlaws! Not the best welcome from a hotel!

Once we finally got into our room it was pleasant enough, we had a side room but it overlooked the pool and sea. The bed was comfy and the air con was cool. The location of the hotel is fantastic, literally on the beach! We found a little shop close by that sold chilled beer and big bags of crisps (perfect for starting the night off). We went down for dinner which was average, everything was covered in oil and very greasy and had little taste. The chips were the only decent thing. We weren't there for the food though. Breakfast was a similar affair.. we should have found a cafe and had an infamous 'Benidorm Breakfast'. Staff in the restaurant were very pleasant though and very friendly and helpful.

One thing about this hotel which I think all the guests had problems with - the lifts didn't like it when there was more than 2 of you in it (although it said it held up to 6 people) and wouldn't move if there was more than 4 people in at a time. Bit of a pain when you were waiting to go to the top floor but they were quick enough and you didn't have to wait for long for the next one.

All in all an ok hotel!

“great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2008

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had asked for a ocean view room, which we did not get. Once we saw our rooms location (side of the building) I came back down and asked to change. They were very helpful we ended up in a wonderful ocean view. The rooms were very clean and for the most part the staff were very friendly. Apart from the the rude man at the desk during the day : (. The food on the other hand was terrible. We started eating out and skipping the free meal. Every night was the same thing over and over, the flavor of everything was just bland. mind you I was not there for the food I was there for the sun and that was glorious. If you are planning a stay at this try to get a sea view, if not I would not be happy paying the rates here. hope i helped some of you : )

“Not a 4 star Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2008

The hotel is situated right on the beach & is a perfect location &, in my opinion, is the reason for the 4 star rating.
The staff are most helpful & pleasant. The rooms are small but kept clean. The best rooms are at the front overlooking the beach & cost 4 euros 98 pp per day, but are well worth the cost. We had the room next door to a Rock & Roll bar, but this caused us no problems as the music is finished before mdt.
The food is boring & repetitive, but we managed to eat sufficient, but is definitely not child friendly. There are plenty of cafes etc nearby which cater adequately for kids. The hotel is in an ideal place for kids due to the beach location, but other than the swimming pool the hotel offers nothing for children.
I would use the hotel again.
