We have spent 4 nights at this hotel and had some really bad experience. Our room was on the ground floor. At the first night we couldn`t sleep properly because someone kept walking in front of our door, and it was very noisy!!
At the first 2 nights we didn`t have any hot water in our room, the receptionist couldn`t speak English and wasn`t really helpful. However after 2 nights a man (a manager like) turned up and he fixed the problem, he was the only one who understood our problem and tried to fix it and refunded us 1 night stay. At the 3rd morning our friend didn`t have electricity in his room. At the last night the receptionist banged the door to me and my partner at 3.00am in the morning and opened the door at us. Because he couldn`t speak English he couldn`t explain why..so we never found out why he opened the door to us in a very unpleasant way. Besides these the room was clean.
Wouldn`t stay again for sure!

we really enjoyed Hostal Mont Royal in Alicante. We were 4 seniors in a car enroute from Malaga to Barcelona and found this charming friendly place. could have stayed a week.

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. It is about 15minutes drive from the main center of Alicante, actually it is in Playa San Jaun.
It is a small hostal, we stayed in a double room with private bathroom, although the room was tiny it was clean and plesant and had air con. Breakfast is included at the onsite resteraunt, great fresh squeezed ornage juice and toasted french bread and jam.
There is a pool. We had dinner at the resteraunt and really enjoyed it although not many of the staff speak english. There is also a great pizzeria next door.
IF you walk 5 minutes down the street you get to a great tiny privaste little bay.
The bus to alicante stops almost outside and ticksts cost only 1 euro.
The only downside was no internet connection and only one of the staff speaking english. Our taxi driver from the airport also did not know were it was.
For only 28 euros a night for 2 you can't get much better.
