Stayed for one night traveling from Barcelona to Hondarribia. Did not expect much based on other reviews and was pleasantly surprised. It was a comfortable 15 minute walk to the running of the bulls action. The room was comfortable and clean and provided a great night's sleep. Plenty of free street parking right across the street.

Nice hotel in good area, only 15 mins walk to the centre. Comfortable stay.

An unpretentious 3 star hotel 20 minutes walk west from the city centre and opposite a nice Japanese-style park. Our room was not large but comfortable enough and with big sky park views. The bathroom was a little cramped, with an excess of opportunities to bruise yourself getting in and out of the shower. Pamplona (our first visit) was disappointing. Perhaps it was the "August effect" but the old town had surprisingly little "marcha" (the best is perhaps around C/San Nicholas and towards the bullring) and lives too heavily off it´s Hemingway-fuelled reputation for bull running. Actually, apart from its brief moment of madness during San Fermin, the town seems staid, with more banks than bars. There are, however, several nice parks and some of the urban architecture is superb.

We were visitng for the running of the bulls and this was perfect. Far enough from the old city that we had virtually no noise. Close enough that you could walk (30 minutes) or ride a bus (15 minutes). Free on street parking in a safe area. Staff were very helpful in suggesting a viewing location for the running of the bulls. They also accommodated our strange timing - getting up at 4am and returning to sleep at 10am. And they let us delay our checkout time.
