“Okay, but not ideal”

As a first visitor to the city of Madrid, this is probably not the best place to stay. It is a fair distance from the nearest Metro (around a 20 odd minute walk). If you want to fully experience Madrid a first time, I'd advise skipping this place.

HOWEVER...

If you've seen enough and want to escape the city at the end of every day, this is a nice place to stay. Quiet, clean and nice service. We stayed in the 5th building, 5th floor and though the view wasn't choice, the room was fantastic; with double bed, seperate setating and kitching area it was more than enough space.

For families, it is idea as there are more than enough facilities in or around the site.

If your a young traveller or want the lifestyle, this is not the right place.

“Dump”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

This complex is basically miles from anywhere and on an industrial estate. It’s quite hard to find in the dark and wasn’t listed on my GPS. The site is pretty much a dump and not maintained well at all. Only one of the swimming pools was open, the other had green water and rubbish in and the third one outside reception completely empty. The pool which is not heated and freezing only opens at midday. The lift was faulty and kept slamming the door on you or not opening at all. There were windows hanging off, light sockets hanging off and cobwebs everywhere. The actual apartment was fairly modern and a good standard apart from the bathroom which was cracked, old and dysfunctional. The bar closes at 11pm and doesn’t even open Sunday afternoon. There is no atmosphere or entertainment. The food is very expensive and basic. I went to reception to ask for leaflets on what to do in Madrid and they said they do not have any! They charge you 6 Euro a day to park but some people just park outside the hotel on the road as it’s free. Security was not an issue and was good. There are no utensils or even plates in the apartment you have to rent them! You have to pay an additional cost if you want your apartment cleaned. It’s not all tourists and many residents live here but have dogs so every night dogs would bark for hours. These apartments are cheap but really I would not recommend them. Spend a bit more and stay closer to the action. It’s not terrible by any means but just not great.

“Don't stay here!”

This was one of the worst places I have stayed in. Despite what it says, the place is miles out of the centre of Madrid and a good twenty minutes walk from the nearest Metro so, if it's too hot to stay in the centre for the afternoon, by the time you've got back and had a siesta, you can't be bothered to treck all the way back in for the evening. The entrance halls were absolutely horrid with bits falling off all over the place but, once you were inside the apartment itself, it was quite good.

“It was fine!”

The hotels was fine. Value for money, no doubt.

Metro is like 15-20 minutes walk away. From the hotel to Madrid Centre it takes like 40 minutes.

Apartments is huge and clean, very clean pool, no bad smell and no rats or oil.
Only bad thing about apartments is that there are not a balkony for every apartment.

When you rent kitchenware you don't get knifes, spoon e.g. Also the staff is not speaking that good english. One of them didn't know what toiletpaper was and just said no, when we asked if they had anymore. It was our "luck" that another member of the staff heard our question...

We had a great week on Be Smart Madrid - We'll be back!

“Be Smart? HA. don't be stupid! don't stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

This hotel was booked as part of a flight and hotel package. It was absolutely horrid and after changing rooms, we only stayed the one night (and only because it was in an industrial area at midnight.)
The only good things to say are
1. the people know that the hotel sucks, so they are reasonably nice when you cancel your stay
2. In the end, it was an interesting experience.
On the down side:
- it is in an industrial area, an hour away from Madrid city center, not easy to access by bus or metro.
- security is poor: broken doors, easy entrance access.
- It is scary, smelly, and unclean.
- And! The heating didn't work so it was very cold.
- loud and noisy, people drinking outside (but not sure why, since there's nothing around!)
Basically, if you were a teenage boy, running away from home, and looking for an anonymous empty, dirty, room somewhere to hide, or if you've cheated on your wife, gambled all your savings and have nowhere else to go, this could be perfect.
Given any choice, don't go here!
