“Limited facilities but excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I use this hotel when travelling on business. Clean and well finished with excellent staff. My only gripe as a business traveller is that there are no irons in the hotel at all. A laudry service exists but thats no good for a late night freshen up!

No restuarant for evening meals but room service or tanle service is available at a nearby location. Breakfast is however pletniful and varied an excellent start to the day.

The hotel is only 10 minutes walk to the main heart of Madrid and well served by buses and the extensive and cheap Metro.

I prefer to use this hotel despite its few shortcomings as it is clean and excellent value.

On this trip the hotel lost all hot water in the morning. Staff worked hard but were iunsuccessful in repairing before I checked out. No charge for my stay at all - thats customer focus, no quibbles no arguements - well done all round

“Excellent hotel and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We stayed in a wide variety of hotels during our Andalucia trip (from B&Bs to 5 star) and this is one of our favourites because it offered such good value for money (Madrid hotels in a good location are not cheap). It isn't a huge hotel with hundreds of rooms so it felt a bit more intimate even though the interior feels modern and clean.

These are all the main positives about the hotel:
- Location. Close to 2 metros, Plaza de Espana, Gran Via, Palace (all within a 5 - 10 minute walk). The street is also relatively quiet so we had a peaceful night's sleep.
- Staff. All very friendly and helpful. Service with a smile :-)
- Rooms. Free wifi, clean, large, had a kitchenette and eating area so we could prepare our own food
- Room service. As it's a smaller hotel it doesn't have a massive kitchen so they outsource their room service to 2 local restaurants. Great idea! You pay the price of a delivery. You can have something from a German/Viennese style restaurant or a sushi restaurant. Not Spanish but after 2 weeks of non stop Spanish, I was gagging for sushi!
- Breakfast. I didn't try this but the other half did and whilst the selection was smaller than in larger business hotels he said the quality was so much better and there were little sandwiches which mixed it up a little.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel. It doesn't sell itself as a luxury hotel so I'm not saying it is, but the rooms are clean, large and modern so I felt very comfortable and I enjoyed it as much I did when I stayed in other hotels with 4 or 5 stars.

Room Tip: Asked for a room on a higher floor and we got one

“Very nice neighbourhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We chose this hotel mostly because it was one of the rare central hotels that suited our budget (although we had to stretch it to its maximum). It lies just in the middle of two metro stops (Plaza de Espana and Ventura Rodriguez) both of which are 10 minutes away. We liked the neighbourhood very much, especially Martin de Los Heros street with some nice bars and diners. It wasn't touristic at all, so that was a nice experience. On the other side, we needed to walk for only 15 minutes to reach the end of Gran Via or Sol. The location was really good, considering the price and the quality. There are many hostals much closer to the epicentre, but they don't have so spacious rooms. Another plus goes to the biggest and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It was simply amazing. Also, TV had more than 60 channels, which was outstanding.
The only complaint goes to the bathroom, which was too small for such a big room and was pretty uncomfortable to use. Also, Wi-Fi did not work at all, except the last day. You have to ask for the username and password at the reception to get access at all. Most of the time we had to search for other networks when we were in the city.
If you are staying for more than 2-3 nights, this is the right place, but if you're in Madrid for the weekend, maybe some central hostal would be a better solution.

“Would stay here again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2011 and would probably stay again. The rooms were nice and modern, although the wi-fi connection was quite poor in our room but there was a computer available in the lobby if necessary. The receptionists spoke good English and the hotel was reasonably close to a metro station.

“Excellent First Time To Madrid”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

This modern hotel in its' well-aged neighborhood may be a bit of a challenge to find on foot at first ( no huge neon sign ) but a walk in the area is well worth the adventure. Attractive hotel staff were very informative and friendly. After a long day of walking, our room was perfect. Like Barcelona, Madrid rewards lots of walking and meandering. We highly recommend the Metro, a neighborhood bistro serving delicious dinners to unassuming diners - delightfully laid-back. The Prado is a long leisurely walk away. We very much look forward to returning
