“spacious apartment and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We spent one week at the apartments in November 2011. The location is good, just 2 min away from GranVia metro station. We used metro only to get from the airport (not comfortable for ladies with suitecases as you have to change the line from airport twice) and to reach train station (to go to Segovia and Toledo). On our way back we used bus from Plaza de Cibeles (only 15 min walk from apartments with luggage). All the city center can be easily reached on foot. The apartment are big enough for 2 adults. We had some problem with air condition, fridge and internet in the room. The owner, Juan, doesn't speak English, so we failed to solve the problem. There are lots of different cafes and small market near the hotel. There is also bar next door and at night it was impossible to sleep with open balcony as people talk loudly in front of the bar when smoking.

“Stayed for 4 days and loved it. Fantastic location and friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

Stayed here with my wife at the start of a trip around Spain. The location is very close to the centre of nightlife in Madrid but in a very quiet street, no problem with noise at all. Prostitutes are certainly in evidence in the street that it joins on to but they were no problem - and this is the middle of a big city after all. Rooms were 3-4 star but really very comfortable and everything worked fine. Juan speaks little or no English but is really helpful despite this. Would certainly stay here again if I was back in Madrid. So much better than a cramped hotel room.

“Loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We stayed here for two nights at the end of a long vacation in Spain and Portugal. We were looking for a location that would be central, and easy to reach after dropping off our rental car at the airport. We weren't looking for much, since by the end of a vacation you are often just thinking about getting home, and hoping that the house is still standing when you return.

This hotel turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We were met by the owner, who gave us an exuberant greeting. He spoke a little English, and my wife speaks a little Spanish, so between the two they managed to communicate that the room wasn't quite ready when we arrived. No problem, we left our bags and found a patio around the corner to have some Sangria. When we returned, our bags had been moved to the 3rd floor room, and the owner showed us around. It was a large apartment, with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette (fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, clothes washer), sitting area, and a small balcony overlooking the street. Utensils and towels were also included. We had been talking about wine we first arrived, and when we returned the owner presented us with a nice bottle of wine from a vineyard near Cuenca. We explained that we had to leave early on our departure day to catch our flight, so the owner phoned and booked a taxi for us.

Overall, the apartment was very convenient, far enough from Gran Via to be quiet, but close enough to the main streets to make it easy to find, and to find the main attractions. We ran into the owner several times during our stay, and he was always very friendly, asking how things were going, and offering assistance. He also provided a great restaurant recommendation; La Gloria De Montera, located just down the street from the apartment, which had very good food and even better prices.

“This is a rare find. Thank you to Juan and the team. Superb service.”

Juan is a true gentleman and his Hotel is a wonderful value for money find. Great location, very clean and apart from not having wi-fi in the room (although free internet available) is perfect. Juan (Manager) did me a great service when I left my iPad behind. He arranged for it be shipped to my requested location and inisted I pay nothing extra than the DHL delivery costs. That is a rare and greatly appreciated gesture and a reflection of this establishment. If Madrid is your town for a stay, this place is a real winner.

Room Tip: Speak with Juan.
