“clean modern hotel on quiet street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

we recently stayed 2 nights in madrid at the sunotel amaral and will return next week since we liked it so much. while it is not in an action packed area such as grand via or plaza del sol, there is a good selection of restaurants just down the street from the sunotel. the metro is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. the neighborhood is quiet enough that we were able to leave our window open at night without having the street noise that you would have in the busier section of madrid. this was necessary because the climate system had been changed to heat -- but the weather was too warm for the heat, so we shut it off in our room and opened the window.
our electrical adapter did not fit the outlet -- the hotel maintenance man was kind enough to give us one that took care of the connection, which meant we were able to use the (free wifi) internet. the breakfast buffet was included,so we ate there. there was plenty of selection, but if it was not included, i would not have eaten there for the 14 euros per person charge. one note -- if you are american, skip the pastries, which are not at all sweet ( however, the savory ones were quite tasty).
the room was clean and spacious. the shower was strong. the bed was firm and comfortable.
overall, i'd say the hotel provided just what we look for in a hotel while vacationing -- not a luxurious place, but a clean comfortable space to shower and sleep.

“Perfect Stay for Real Madrid game”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We decided to attend a Real Madrid game (amazing experience) and wanted to stay walking distance to the stadium. Found this hotel through hotels.com. It was perfect for what we needed. It was cheaper than most other hotels in the area and about a 15 minute (safe) walk to the stadium. This is a great value, no frills hotel and that was all we needed.

“A Good Hotel with Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as I had football tickets for Real Madrid. The hotel is ideally located for this purpose. The check in procedure was very quick and hassle free. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful.
The rooms were a decent size and were very comfortable. My only moan was that the room smelt smokey and this was supposed to be a non smoking room. Apart from this the rooms were well maintained and were very clean.
Breakfast was also very good and there was plenty of choice.
There are a number of commercial restaurants in the area but if you want small local tapas then you may have to look further afield.
The Metro (Cuzco) was only a 7 minute walk and the hotel was easy to find. All in all this is a good little hotel which if travelling to Madrid again I would consider using again.

“Do not stay at this hotel!”

Celebrated my 30th birthday in Madrid and stayed at this hotel. It is directly across from a business where men pay for sex. It is called a sauna. No bueno!
I never slept over night in my room. The staff accused me of having multiple people sleep in my room which was not true. I used the room to shower and store my things. I was always gone until the afternoon. The two persons who visited me in my room are family whom reside in Madrid who have fancy homes. Why would they sleep in this small hotel which has trash around it. Such bad street cleaning. But the rest of the neighbor hood is nice! Makes no sense. The staff here are rude, nosey, will falsely accuse you of things and lastly some of my clothes were stolen and I was charged a extra 100$ for my company stay. Like I said I never even slept in my hotel room. Stay at AC Marriott one block away by Cuzco. The staff will treat you like the human being with kindness like you deserve.

“Value for money but...”

Second time I am staying in this hotel. It is placed in a nice area, near Couzco Metro station (7-10min walking). My room has been descent, and clean.
Since I don't speak Spanish I would like to have one or two English speaking channels to watch.
The lack of a refrigerator though inside the room, at least to me has been a disadvantage.
The choices that you have during breakfast are more than satisfactory plus the politeness of the personnel have to considered plus to this hotel
