“Central location for this lovely arte Hotel, Hola Madrid”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend with a friend in a twin room. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Madrid in the art distict right next to the Reina Sofia museum. The metro is very close 3 mins from the door ' Atocha' and also Atocha Renfe Main line station is opposite for trips to Toledo and other parts of spain, which I did and highly recommend.

The Hotel has a very modern look with desirable furniture and a lovely bar in the entrance, the rooms have a wardrobe for storage, comfortable bed, flat screen tv and fridge/minibar. Large bathroom, fresh towels everyday and hot water....no complaints at all.

Wifi is avaliable at a price per hour or day avaliable from reception as well as currency exchange which was helpful.

I didnt have breakfast or dinner in the restaurant so cannot comment but I always saw it as busy.

There are cafes/restaurants close by and a well know coffee shop not far for those who need that breakfast fix and catch up on the emails.

Overall had an excellent stay at this hotel, the price was very good and I would stay here again straight away. The staff were only too happy to help me with anything and spoke good english.

Room Tip: I found the room very quiet and we had a view of the main road so I recommend any room

“Excelent location, correct... but not enough for 4 stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

The location is excellent. There's no doubt that if you gonna move into the art center in Madrid, you can go walking everywhere.
But, can you belive in a 4 stars hotel there's no room service after 11 PM? And, what about the TV chanels, not enaugh again.

“4 Star and very convenient”

My son and I stayed at the Husa Charmartin in Madrid this weekend and it was great as a base as it is 150mtrs from the excellent Metro system. The room was clean with good wardrobe, en suite with proper bath and bidet. Fridge and safe also. We did not dine at the hotle so cannot comment on the food although the breakfast room looked good with a large choice. It is in an excellent position as previously mentioned for the metro and it is only 2 stops from Estadio San Bernabeu home of the famous Real Madrid CF. We enjoyed the match Saturday evening as Real beat Zarragozza 3-1. The nearby Irish Rover pub is definitely worth a pre match vist and you will recieve a warm welcome from their friendly staff and the atmosphere and food there is excellent.

“Good hotel in good location”

The hotel is very good. Very well located in the center. Not far from 3 biggest museums. But... A little bit noisy because of a disco club nearby. Room are cold - bad isolation of windoows in Junior suite. Breakfast is not variable.

“Cosy and convenient hotel makes for a great city break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights for our second trip to Madrid. Our double room on the fifth floor was cosy enough, with a good sized, well-equipped bathroom - the free shoehorn was a nice touch. Very clean and nicely furnished.

Probably the best thing about it is its location; although Madrid is an extremely accessible city anyway (the most efficient and cheap Metro service I've ever come across), the Husa Paseo del Arte is well within walking distance of Atocha station, the best art galleries in the city and the Retiro, a spacious and handsome park that is perfect for strolls no matter what the season. These attractions are all within Madrid's Bourbon quarter, arguably the most beautiful part of the city. Fountains abound, and the wide boulevards are a pleasant change from the narrow labyrinthine layout of the old centre and La Castellana in the north of the city.

In all honesty we didn't spend much time in the hotel, what with all the fun times to be had exploring Madrid. However, as a relatively inexpensive, convenient and comfortable base for sleeping and showering, the Husa is perfect. Staff at reception are efficient and more than happy to look after your bags after you've checked out if, like us, you had a few hours spare before your flight home. We would recommend transit to and from Barajas airport via the Aeropuerto Exprés shuttle bus service - this only has three stops in the city, the third being Atocha station, which is handy in the extreme. It is probably about as quick as a taxi and most importantly, much cheaper at 2 euros.

The only negatives I can think of are the hotel bar, which is ludicrously overpriced, and the hotel's proximity to a nightclub slightly down the road which is open from 12am to 6am - early morning revellers could just about be heard on the street below, but this would probably only affect the lightest of sleepers. All in all though, a great stay and very much recommended.

Room Tip: Apparently there's a 24-hour gym on the top floor, so avoid a room directly beneath it if you ca...
